Just as sentiment was pushing ESKN back towards last Summers placing price of 40p, todays news arrives.
Could be a chance to pick up a trade sub 30p, particularly if there is no Airline sale news.
Looks like we are unlikely to see, whether PI's who bought in at 40p were going to hold or take the opportunity to recoup the funds they put in back in June.
Never a dull day here.

Hi Birddog - emmm - personally i don't take WB jumping ship as good news.
Raises questions, in the short term. Have they secured he Airline sale ? Or maybe not.
He is well thought of in the Industry, but you have to question why he didn't stay to steer the business through these challenging times.
Maybe some sp volatility in the short term.
Never a dull day here.
G
Birddog - the sale of the Energy Division is part of the BOD's stated strategy.
As per previous RNS. ReasonS were explained fully at the time.

Birddog - am guessing you were slightly surprised by the improvement in the latest Southend yr end figures in comparison to the previous yr , which you more fully detailed in your 17th Nov post. which of course resulted in some small debate between ourselves.
We are i think in agreement the Airline sale or lack of sale is key in the short term. Time is ticking on that.
Yep TOSCA are in at an average of 70p. I do wonder if the Co. should have raised £50m more back in June. Am hoping they wont need a fire sale of the Energy Division. if the BOD can manage cashflow to enable a decent price for the Energy Division then all well and good.
I have no predictions for the sp, three - nine months down the line. I'd just be guessing. Will trade on dips, rumour, news, sentiment, activity.
cheers mate
G
Hi Birddog - agree we still await news on the proposed sale, and time is ticking. A positive announcement should produce a major boost to the sp. No news by the month end or bad news, will have the opposite effect.
It's always fun here, the sp bounces around creating trading opportunities on a regular basis.
You did offer to comment on the latest annuals for Southend Airport, we have discussed previous years figures, but unless i've missed one of your posts I'm not sure you have posted on the recent update.
Cheers

Hi Volcano - It's a good one to trade. I went in just before the close and picked up a chunk.
Maybe too early, market didn't like the latest trading report, ( at first glance ) that said the the Div looks fine for at least the next 4/5 quarters.
I still haven't pressed the button on SPT, yet this time round, sub 2.40 looks attractive - maybe i'll wait till closer to the results in March.
STOB ( ESKN ) looks close to offering another opportunity shortly - be good to hear news on Stobart Air - one way or another.
G
Hi Volcano - have not pressed any buttons today as yet.
Many are dropping into potential buy territory.
Not sure if this will be a small market adjustment or something more longer term.
SPT @2.40 looks attractive, so do many others @ today's prices. Will hold fire and see how UK markets react as you say to the US open. There may be a trade or two, towards the end of the day. TBH I'm in no hurry, lol
Will make a coffee, and track what the "Blonde Bombshell" is saying in Parliament this afternoon.

Volcano - STOB remains a marmite share. Govt support to the sector is helpful in the short term.
The future remains uncertain for the Aviation sector. Only 5 weeks till the end of Feb deadline for the sale of Stobart Air. If they can lose that then the sp should see a marked uplift.
I'm still holding a fair chunk of the shares I've collected through top slicing over the last few years.
Pop over to the ADFVN chat board, and they seem more up beat than here.
This bb has its fair share of glass half empty posters, which is fine, its worth considering all views. Though sometimes its not easy to work out whether such posters are posting looking for a price, or have previously sold out at a loss and don't want to see newbies making money, or have genuine concerns.
I've been looking for an entry on GSK, SPT and BA. in particular, in recent days, but i wont be offering negative views, on those boards, hoping for a low entry, it just makes you look silly if you miss out. If an sp comes into my price range i'll just dip buy.
These boards remain useful to pass info, but are unlikely to influence sp's imv.
Have a great day mate.

Volcano - no have been looking around, no news on the Stobart Air sale that I can see, atm.
SGE has been fun this morning, looks like those talking it down over the last few days, hoping for a low entry have missed out.
There seem to be many posters on many bb's expressing concerns over the next trading updates. Only thing is talking on bb's doesn't make any money. Putting your cash in at a price you feel will make a turn does.
But that's the name of the game with trading - buy a share low and pass it on to someone else for a profit.
G
Volcano - good early doors reaction to the trading update.
Looks like some how were expressing concerns may have missed out here.
G
Trading is the way to go atm Volcano.
G
Hi Volcano - Not a bad day for SGE.
I'm sitting on mine here, atm, lets see what the market thinks of tomorrows update, it can be a bit flaky on the day. Long term - I'm comfortable with this one.
Are you keeping a watching eye over SPT still, had my finger over the buy button this morning, waited as i thought it might drop and it's got away from me a little.
Wonder if the sages here on SGE will be jumping in on a dip tomorrow or bemoaning a missed opportunity.

Emm broker ratings. ( often agenda based )
Often worth looking at past performance.
KIV CS perfromance - 26/04/2018 - SP - closed at 1437, they went "neutral" 1450
By 01/10/2019 when the SP closed at 1730 - CS went "Neutral" 1700
A few months later at 20/01/2020 the SP had risen to 1838
Thankfully I personally took no notice of CS during that period, if I had I'd have missed out on some excellent gains.
Now CS have gone from Neutral 1580 - underperform 1400.
At best you could suggest they follow the SP, usually somewhat behind events.
At worse you could suggest they have been pretty clueless, in the past 2/3 years.
Only my own view drawn for past ratings and actual SP performance.
KIV Brokers rarely offer timeframes for their ratings ( stopped clocks come to mind )
G
Hi Volcano, hope all's well with you mate - yep thought SGE would offer me a couple of options, with a buy into the ex div. Will take Plan B.
Maybe it's a little unloved and not that exciting perhaps atm.
But not a worry here to hold to the medium term, feel it could easily go the way of SMDS, and that wasn't too shabby lol.

I bought SGE @ £5.74 last Friday, hoping for a run up to £6.00 as we moved towards the ex div day.
Should perhaps have sold out at circa £5.81 -£5.83 on Monday but held on, only to see the sp drop away.
Hey ho - Plan B - now have the div locked in so I'm net ( £5.74 - 0.1132) around £5.63 ish.
Will hold for £6.00, feel this should be trading bet £6 - £6.50 - but only my personal view - the market says otherwise.
I recall SMDS ( diff Co. / diff sector ) felt undervalued back in the Autumn when it was struggled to break £3.00, now up above £4.00 once the handbrake was released.
G
NR - today was handy - large volumes of small trades, circa 9.9M shares traded ( bought and sold).
Total no of trades was 2634 - so lots of PI's swapping shares. ( average trade was around £1140 ).
STOB doesn't usually achieve such high levels of trades, often it can be a bit "tumbleweed" here lol.
Sentiment is key as is trading volumes. Personally I felt it was time to take some profits, this morning, though I like to trade this one.
Anything could and generally does happen here, lets see what tomorrow brings.
The sale of Stobart Air remains key in the medium to long term for STOB, in the mean time i'll trade it on dips and sentiment.
The good news is we have many new buyers and some who have added more at these levels. So a lot more happy bunnies than back in the autumn where loads were under water ( many still are ).
Hopefully a few more positive souls will join this board and the debate.

G
Yep Volcano - take profits offered up. STOB is very likely to provide another trading opportunity over the coming days and weeks.
G
Lol glass half empty - doh that should have been.
Will buy on future dips.
One of my favourite trading shares. No stamp duty and good daily swings.

G
Quite a few posters here with a glass half full in the back end of 2020.
So pleased I put my hands over my ears, and continued trading dips.
Have pretty much doubled my money on a couple of trades. Have taken a little off the table this morning and kindly accepted the generous profits served up.
That said still have a decent no of shares in here.
Am wondering whether those talking it down on here were traders looking for buy opportunities or people who couldn't see a strong term recovery play.
Would still like to see news on the sale of Stobart Air.
Git to be in it to win it !

Those shares picked up sub 20p back in the Autumn look good trades,
Got to be in it to win it !
