Like you i have time for SPT, Going to re read those recent HGM rns with a fine tooth comb, for a potential entry, and for me AAZ.

Depending on how the media deal with this over the weekend I'd say its tin hats time for many pi's on many shares on Monday.

Hi Volcano - I had a slightly frustrating afternoon in that my Halifax trading platform, refused to complete trades, all other aspects of the site were fine. Called the helpline no. and was given the taped message that it was due to high trading volumes.

Not happened to me before, thankfully it came live before the close and I escaped a couple of day trades with profit, though not as high as I might of had an hour or so earlier.

I'm not looking to carry any trades over the weekend, let's wait and see what comes out the US / US Govt virus daily presentation meetings over tonight and the weekend. Together with news from Europe about the virus, then we can all take our positions again on Monday.

9 months till my car is due its next service. With Social distancing, I reckon, my monthly mileage will reduce substantially. Atm I'm running my car round the block to keep it ticking over. I'm retired, and tend to do less than 10K miles pa.

I have a friend who just got his car back from the repair shop after a small rear end shunt, not his fault. He called me and say he'd taken 45 mins to wipe down all areas of the his car inside and out. Some may say he was being over careful, but as he said to me, would you want a stranger - or several strangers coming into your house and wiping their hands over all door handles and surfaces atm ?

It's an interesting take on matters, I guess.

Good to hear from Lonvalinv that garages are swamped with work atm , no one wants businesses to struggle because of the virus. Unless HFD puts out a pre year end trading rns, we'll need to be patient and wait for the Yr End finals when published in May.

Am watching Trump and his team pumping up their response to the Virus - they come across as a little too bullish to me.

Trump Says FDA Approved Anti-Malaria Drug Chloroquine To Test As Coronavirus Treatment.

I'm watching this on Bloomberg tv and a great big "braking news" red banner has now appeared across the tv screen, saying the FDA has not approved Chloroquine for that purpose - Good grief !!!

AAZ - keeps opening down into the low 70's then rises throughout the afternoon sessions this week.

Flying atm - 88p to buy as I type.

It's been great for day trading, though I feel it will move into hold territory for me very soon as I'm not confident that Fiscal and Monetary policies, are going to prevent equities markets, from volatility over the next 6 months.

Hi Volcano - Yep am watching AV. - Over the last couple months AV. & LGEN have pretty much mirrored each other on their falls, there is a bit of inter bb bickering going on between the two camps on here, I've kept out of it lol

Not traded any travel / airline shares since it really kicked off with the virus.

I only held BVC for a short time this morning, everything is very volatile, taking small profits when they present themselves.

As you say so many shares to trade, its enough to give you a bit of a headache lol.

Hi Volcano - i got a bit of BVC this morning too but i was busy on other shares till 8.45, so didn't get a full mouth full - closed out now lol

I've still got some long termer's - though I've been trading in and out of them, maybe would have been better to close them out completely - doubt whether many div payments will survive, which puts added pressure on a sp.

Cash is increasing as an overall % in my trading account - there are some crazy fluctuations out there.

Deffo looking at Company debt positions, and only day trades in and out at the moment - Just don't see Govt. Fiscal and Monetary policies, across the world preventing equity markets from falling further overall.

It's cash then into Gold for me if this situation is confirmed as long term. ( will continued to trade daily if i see an opportunity but am not hanging around once I'm in profit on a trade ).

Didn't expect CNA to be top of the FTSE leader board earlier this morning, some shares up 20% today suggesting they were over sold, other down 10 -15 %.

With social distancing recommendations, will the public want to delay car servicing for a few months, to reduce the potential spread of the virus, onto surfaces.

My next service isn't till Dec. atm I'm not looking for anyone apart from my partner and myself to travel in my car.

I'm not suggesting the banks would act improperly, I'm mainly looking towards the first two levels of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs:
1. Physiological needs - these are biological requirements for human survival, e.g. air, food, drink, shelter, clothing, warmth, sex, sleep.
2. Safety needs - protection from elements, security, order, law, stability, freedom from fear.

So I'd add to the Banking system - law and order.

We live in unprecedented times - at least for 2 /3 generations.

TF - are you anticipating Govt. support for Airports / Airlines, later today ? It might be the case.

There are so many priorities out there,for the Govt to tackle. I'm beginning to think that the last election was the best one Labour ever lost !

Will we get more focus on potential self protection through additional social distancing measures, together with :
- protection and support for all aspects of the NHS
- Protection of food supply
- Financial protection measures for individuals.
- Protection of banking system ( i put in the banking system as without it we'd probably have anarchy within 5 days - imagine what would happen at Supermarkets if the cash machines stopped working / or plastic cards didn't work - Riots ).

I'm sure there are many other areas or sectors that posters could offer up for support.

Looks like many Co's will need to cancel divs atm.

This week FXPO / MNZS / DTY plus several others. It's the right move to conserve cash no doubt. Guess most Co's with trading announcements will go the same way.

Fortunately here in STOB we were ahead of the curve lol. As always a forward thinking co !

Like many Co's out there STOB are asset rich - but need to maintain cashflows. I'd guess the BOD is looking at putting capex on hold at Southend for a few months.

Fortunately STOB has its Energy Division which was able to deliver 1.6m million tonnes of waste fuel in FY 2020, representing an increase of over 19% on the previous year (FY19 1.3m).

By my rough Calculation that should bring in revenues around £80m for the year on its own. Aviation revenue is more difficult to assess, perhaps circa £60 - £70M.

Like most I'm not sure what the bottom line will look like, nor how the forward statement, will read when the Finals are reported in May.

Like all Co's its a case of hunkering down atm.

Not sure either Fiscal or Monetary Policy plans out there will be enough to prevent recession, and the down side to equity markets across the world.

Its cash, then into Gold for me just down to timing.

TF - got to love these bb's, STOB provide a response to media speculation relating to discussions, regarding a potential raising of cash through the sale of 25% of Southend Airport. The news is digested calmly here on the STOB bb.

Yet your new found friends over on ESL, have gone overboard, with Various ramping posts on how the news could benefit ESL.

STOB have spent the last 4 years selling off its stake in ESL, it has clear plans to invest in Energy, and Southend Airport.

Go on help them out over there lol.

Hi Volcano, yep its very volatile out there. See ftse futures are up this morning pre open, with gold holding atm.

If the virus impacts, for months then i cant see monetary and fiscal measures preventing a further equity market slump.

Is it margin calls holding gold back ?

Good news for gold is it gets to market in weeks maybe up to say three months, which is great for cashflow.

Many other sectors which struggle, with income stream time frames.

Trading is challenging atm.
