Imho you will make a great deal of money here.

Just don't think its that easy and do the same again ; diversification is essential really. I'm up to my neck here, too, but I will never repeat that on another share.

It mb worth bearing in mind that the current oil balance is secured by a peculiar combination of supply restraints, most of which are unlikelyto continue forever.

Libya and Venezuela are probably keeping a potential 2M bd off the market, mb more like 2.5MB.

OPEC+ are restricting by c. a further 1.5M bd. Iran is perhaps 1.5M bd short of capacity, and perhaps another 0.5M bd from Nigeria.

All of these will not unwind at once, but that's a hefty 6M bd of supply restraint/restriction, without even part of which there would be a huge glut.

I know there are further supply risks too, but it is as well to be aware that there is huge surplus capacity lying unused going forward.

The other finance led in a less safe jurisdiction, with a bit too much showmanship and bit too little geo expertise, it would see. Mb they were just unlucky with this drill, ; it happens.
But they hyped this as a multi TCF discovery long b4 it was proven, and have been found out.

HUR have consistently been v cautious about resource size, have kept heads down and got to production, and even now the resource is likely much greater than quoted figures.

I was in SOU and feel for holders there. But HUR is just a different beast by far.

The point AS made is that can not be taken for granted, and that many funds are now constrained in doing so by various means of oversight, ethos, etc., but perhaps most of all by risk perception around the CC agenda.

Much like tobacco, the money is still there, but fewer funds in the sector than before.

Don't forget the WD well must be in the reservoir by now, so there will surely be interference testing with that too.

As I understand it current thinking is that Lincoln/Warwick and Lancaster/Halifax are separated by the Brynhild fault zone, but that is not a certainty.

If testing were to show them to be connected I guess we really would have a supergiant on our hands. But I mb wrong, would it make much difference?

Scepticism re investments is a good thing, usually, and I'm not trying to jump on you for that.

But in this case second guessing the HUR geo/reservoir team is like telling Roger Federer go and learn tennis.

Re Xcite, etc, I think this sort of comparison is the problem. Your doubts/criticisms might have some weight if applied to many small oilies, where, usually, the geology team is subordinate to finance/PR/lifestyle/politics.

They are not valid here. This co has been geology led from the start, has a fantastic drilling record, is still bossed by a geologist, backed by independent geologists, and this geology team has the world's best experience in FB.

If there's one area that will NOT let you down with HUR, it's geology. Nor will any others, imho, but that's another story.

I'm afraid you have just marked yourself as severely under researched here. HUR do employ consultants, of course ; RPS we know about, but I'm sure other specialists in IT, in imaging, and interpretation.

But HUR, and DR T in particular, are THE global experts in fractured basement.

If your qualifications and experience outrank Dr T's, we'd all be interested to hear how.
