The Calgary, Canada-based oil and gas company confirmed light, sweet crude oil discoveries in its second Royston-1 well test.

The second test established a light oil reservoir with an average American Petroleum Institute gravity of 30 degrees in the Herrera Formation with flow rates of up to 430 barrels of oil per day.

This compares to the oil recovered in the first test which had an average API gravity of 33 degrees with flow rates rates of up to 550 barrels of oil per day.

Touchstone has since suspended the second test interval and is moving up-hole to the third production test which will complete the upper most portion of the overthrust sheet at the Herrera Formation, the company outlined.

Touchstone said its second exploration prospect, Kraken-1, is targeting the deep Cretaceous turbidite sands which it hopes will provide "exciting future drilling inventories".

True, it has been £1.80 previously but interest has dropped off. I'm hoping Royston results will light the fire under the rocket. If results are underwhelming the SP may not even move above £1, so £2 is hard to predict. I'm not even sure what will move it as Casca is practically complete with first gas in next few weeks almost certain, and Royston tested previously with 500bopd confirmed. I guess prospective buyers prefer to gamble than invest in a 'sure thing'.

I imagine test results will be available this month? What are we expecting, previous test suggested 550bopd, do you think latest tests will outperform expectations?

If you've been here long enough (like me) you'll know that news is something Abingdon don't do. Next update will be mandatory results I expect, some time in October/November. Let's hope they've made a profit of back into the 5/7p territory we head.

Dividend should continue but ignore the retrospectively calculated yield shown here. Around 5% is more like it.

IMO, the risks are priced in. Divi should be from debt interest so shouldn't be cut. Like most here I'm worried I've missed something but seems good yield whilst SP stays suppressed, with recovery to the upside back to NAV (at some point).
