I'm still waiting. I've marked late May/early June when the pandemic is on the run, gold still drifting and still well before results, and an SP under 16p.
The more time goes on ,the more debt is paid, the higher the dividend and SP will be once gold joins the inflation race.

What's your reasoning Darren ? Fora drop to 275.

I understand the buyback puts a price anchor in the 290's but the results are very soon and we already know they are going to be very good. The buyback will increase the dividend per share and also mop up large sellers. Any hint or implication of a dividend increase, even in or after 2022, buried deep in the text of those lengthy pages will be enough to take the SP to test and pass 320.

Agree teej. After all the hoohaa and IMO the failure of the share consolidation, the dividend should most definitely have been more than last year, even an extra penny to 7p sends the good message to the patient shareholders. This will continue to move like a dinosaur.

Hi Gareth. Yep. In a similar position. I sold too many the other day at 578, literally the same morning before the SP shot north. My own fault as I should have realised there would be dividend reinvestment to provide upward motion.
Still sitting on the cash hopeful that the price may go down but I think time is running out before further announcements and the 600s is the new norm with the prospect of higher dividends, or, I use the cash for another investment. Still, EVR is currently about 15% of my portfolio value with an average of 24p a share ! So not all bad I guess.

Nice trading. I opted not to buy back in at 302 in the end, but to buy Sabre Insurance, same sector instead, to do sell into a dividend rise (around 4.5% ex-div 22nd April), and still have the option to collect the div and/or reinvest etc.

In my calculations the buyback for the first few hundred million at least means that at an SP of 290 or more we as investors get more value from a dividend than a buyback.
However.
The good thing about a buyback is that when any of those long term funds who wanted a straightforward oil/gas play rather than BP 's all round energy and green strategy aligning with the 2050 pledges, then there is a ready buyer for the holdings they sell. The SP should not get shorted or sold down too much with BP buying back shares.

Just bought back at 293 the holding I sold recently at 307. My rudimentary TA suggests 291-293 is the bottom of the current channel.

There should be a much anticipated rise towards Q! results.
The dividend will not be increasing as an amount for the company but should increase a little bit in cents per share.
At some point this year there will be a shoot up past 350, but next step is a new trading range with a floor above 292.

Recently did well trading the DLG rise into the ex-dividend date and plan to do the same here.
If I end up holding through then no problem, I'll collect the div, reinvest and Sabre will be just fine as a hold.

Hi Parity.
I've noticed that many times share prices plunged down beyond what's expected on ex-div day in the days and weeks after ex-div. Mostly I've just collected the div and held.
I looked back and saw that this plunge has happened with DLG in previous dividends. I need to cash some shares to transfer from trading to ISA a/c at some point so decided to take my DLG profit and cash in on the strength of record date combined with FTSE strength but risk is with the buyback mopping up sales.
I will see in the coming days/weeks if it worked. Selling at 321, means I'm looking for a re-entry price below 305.

Check it wasn't put into an unknown US$ cash account.

If I sell any amount of shares here I'll let everyone know, as that will be a clear buy signal for the SP to go up by 25 pence... Happy and "Doh" at the same time.
Hi CasualInvestor. Evraz has been the share that keeps on giving. The dividend should be much greater after the summer too with commodity prices riding so high.

Hi Gareth. My div landed in my SIPP which will auto-reinvest, but not yet landed in my ISA (with ii.co.uk).
Top sliced some of my holding today for transferring cash to my ISA, so in a few days/weeks I'm actually now hoping for a lower SP to reinvest it! Chancy, but had to be done at some point so decided now whilst FTSE is having a couple of good days. I'll see...
Fundamentals and commodity prices still looking excellent for EVR.

I expected a bit more upwards movement towards ex-div.
Need to transfer to ISA, so currently my plan is to sell before and reinvest in the ISA trading my shareholding higher after the ex-div drop. Best laid plans etc...
Anyone keeping track how much has been spent in the buyback or is there a way to see this ?

Great news !! $35 Billion reached in Q1. Keeping the divi the same but the number of shares less and less means a steady upwards force.

23.65% = 528 530 636 Shares
Looks like they've sold over 90m. Maybe a reason for the accentuated sell down.... ?

I find that the SLX correlates to EVR in the recent two years pretty closely, however not 2018-2019.

Our Dividend arrives on the 7th April.
Next one in 6 Months time, should be way more than $0.30
Chartwise... EVR is going Upwards. Significant resistance 600-630. Will be good to break through 600 again.

IMO That Yahoo analysis is generated by a computer program. It doesn't discuss any of the main drivers of the fundamentals.
