This dividend is less than 1.8% of the current share price which in is actually up 3.65% today. Think there's a few conspiracies being pedalled here.

Quite LTI, why pick today to stiff auto-reinvestors ? It doesn't make sense.

Not sure why then, that they would pick today to hike the price. They would surely do it the night before payment day. The simple solution is not to auto-reinvest and pick your own day on a dip to use dividend proceeds.

A lot of shares are up today. The share price certainly rises in the run up to going ex div but that's a new one on me rising in the run up to payment day when cash is going to leave the business.

I rather suspect that the market-makers have marked Lloyds up this morning in expectation of Truss's government laying out plans to help UK households and businesses in which Lloyds particularly has a vested interest coupled with Sterling rising.

Priti Patel was evidently in the Sunak camp though hadn't announced publicly. She has obviously jumped before she was pushed. Cabinet re-shuffles are nothing new.

At the start of the buyback, I seem to remember the £2bn was going to increase the share price by about 2.6p by the time it was finished at the price at the time. I really don't understand the expectations of some people regarding buybacks.

If anyone took out a mortgage based upon base rates remaining at 0.5% for the duration of their mortgage, I would deem them stupid and naive .
