Lloyds has a progressive dividend policy already. A one off special dividend as I said would make little difference to the share price other than to spike the price by the dividend amount only for it to return to where it was after it traded ex-dividend. If you honestly think that the lack of a special dividend is the reason that Lloyds shares are where they are I give up with you fella.
The market makers and analysts want to see growing profits year on year and low impairments going forward ie no recession. Until both are delivered, they will continue to trade in this narrow band in my opinion.
if you think a 1p or whatever special dividend will change Lloyds' share price fortunes, I suggest you write to Mr Nunn mate and suggest it to him.......
