Lloyds has a progressive dividend policy already. A one off special dividend as I said would make little difference to the share price other than to spike the price by the dividend amount only for it to return to where it was after it traded ex-dividend. If you honestly think that the lack of a special dividend is the reason that Lloyds shares are where they are I give up with you fella.

The market makers and analysts want to see growing profits year on year and low impairments going forward ie no recession. Until both are delivered, they will continue to trade in this narrow band in my opinion.

if you think a 1p or whatever special dividend will change Lloyds' share price fortunes, I suggest you write to Mr Nunn mate and suggest it to him.......

Not sure what you're going on about there. I'm making the point that if investors don't like the CEO and his performance, they should either take him to task at an EGM or sell up. I'm sure MS will willingly buy them. I would have thought that was quite self-explanatory and unambiguous.

Special dividends are precisely that, one-offs. They will not provide anything other than a temporary spike in the share price until they go ex-dividend.

Why would the share price be higher now if we'd had a special payment ? The cash would have left the business and the share price would go down again after it had gone ex-dividend.

Yes you did and they're now down on when you suggested them as an investment. See this type of ramping constantly sadly.

The market-makers pricing of Lloyds is not Nunn's fault. The answer of course for those ****ging him off is to call him to task at an AGM/EGM or vote with one's feet and sell your shares.
