With a share of this liquidity I don't see much avenue for any success with an attempt at sustained manipulation that you hypothecate. but of course anyone can put in a big order at a particular price.

This has been (and will remain so imo until the project risks are overcome) in the thrall of flighty PIs. With the type of RNS we've just had the majority of these will react to what can easily be perceived as bad news by promptly getting out, they want to retain some profit and judge more selling will follow their move - the sp falls. A pretty much equally impactful group (as regards financial clout) will also pile in when they perceive the sp has moved to short term 'bargain' territory. This is where you are now seeing these big numbers coming in IMO.

It is very fashionable (almost to the point of religion) on investment forums to moot great conspiracy theories about 'the other' having more knowledge, information, contacts, power etc than does the 'umble PI. I think PIs talk down their own knowledge and understanding of what's going on too much at times.

Also note Fraser mooted that the 'junk' could be restructured once the project gets past the big hurdles, eg MTS through and particularly fist poly and commencing sales. So just some 2-3 years of paying that 12 odd % instead of 7? $600m, 5% 3y? $9m extra.

FMU from CF's A to LN this is still the plan. Regardless that those that are signing up to provide the later tranches will/may have milestone conditionals attached.

Also my understanding that the additional capital makeup above the $3bn senior debt only gets announced once those CLs for the $3bn are in. What price that though eh?!

It also occurs that not only would this metalwork be in the way but also if it was left in situ and it was getting bashed around by big peckers and from mucking out the impacts could jeopardize the integrity of the capping seal at the sub aquifer level.............bad idea!

It's removing the steel lining of SM14. They would have capped it at below that upper aquifer level (somewhere below 120m down) to stop water leaking down but now the metalwork above there is in the way. Doing that does not preclude any pumping out as well in my mind.

You can find the well lining scheme in the hydro assessment doc for the original SM14 PA.

If it is to only come after the project reaches First Polyhalite then it is apparent to all that the project would then be in vast amount derisked. I would then fully expect Sirius will be able to go to the market to secure the 'debt/bonds' third tranche at rates only a very few points above what guaranteed debt would be raised at. Might even work out cheaper that way when you take the gov fees into account.

Rock? Lenders' criteria (all bankers are now cautious since they [undeservedly] got away with not being locked up ten years back) are tight and they want as much risk as pos offloaded onto 'someone else'.

Hard place? Strabag are not going to be that 'someone else' unless they are paid top dollar to build THE most top dollar tunnel, that they can have confidence in walking from and it won't go wrong until the strangulation from the lenders upon Sirius becomes a distant bad memory.

16y amortisation period is mooted for debt wind down.
