Orange river tendering process
Timeline below. Now as u all know I work in procurement and have done so for 23 years. Never in my life have I ever seen a tender process take as long as this and I think they are holding back information to us PIs. Think about this. The tender was initiated on 17 May 2018 meaning the tender was compiled then issued to the market. We then have tenderers inspect the site as part of the tender process as advised in 26 July 2018 so let’s just imagine the tender returned end of August 2018. In normal situations u would include a 120 day validity period to accept offers and have contract awarded. As part of the tender process you would have a contract start date. The date from 31 August 2018 to present date is 231 days. There is not a chance in fuk we are being told the full story here. I can’t understand why that project hasn’t been delivered unless and my honest opinion (how I would do it) Larry has played a GEM and due to the cost associated with the construction of the pipework has used this as leverage to get bidding war in place and have these companies fund it on the basis of the amount of tantalum we have in the ground. It’s the only logical reason. Trust me ave been doing this for 23 years and negotiate on multi million pound contracts. Larry was a procurement director. He knows what he is doing and I 1000% trust him and can see what he is doing here.

17 May 2018 Following the newly approved water licence to acquire water from the Orange River, delivering considerably more consistent water at higher volumes, Aftan has initiated a tender process for laying the pipework, with the intention of utilising solar power to drive the system
26 July 2018 Following receipt of the water licence to acquire water from the Orange River, Aftan, under the guidance of Kazera's CEO, has had 7 companies inspect the property and river as part of the tender process on the Orange River pipeline. This is a very important licence and process. The licence will ensure water will not be an issue for the operation regardless of the future size of the plant. In a dry country this is of critical importance. Additionally, the tender process will identify the cost of the pipeline assisting future strategic planning.
