MoneyPit,
I am (reasonably) optimistic, not short term but long-term as an investor in Cineworld.
Otherwise I wouldnt hold shares in the business.
Regards my earlier comments on your post I used the same source as yourself and wanted to like yourself set realistic expectations.
Company is currently some way from being at levels it wants/needs for a prolonged period, but yes it is now on the journey.
It is open and trading pretty much 100% of its business (be it UK or even more so lately the incessant talk of Eastern European parts of business is of very small concern in the picture for the business/it's share price). Focus really should be massively on USA.
There is a supply of movies, unlike last Autumn (when after about a week or so of re-opening Mooky also talked similarly positively about the attendance etc only to then have nothing worth showing and making further substantial losses and re- closing).
Thankfully we are different at this stage.
You have now put your own estimated expectations for June box office which I find a reasonable figure, one that might be surpassed.
Unlike that of LPD (seems to have posted a bit today for someone that was stepping back from this board, ah the bants ;-)
I usually find Mooky calming and reassuring (have said so on number of occasions).
Regards what he has ACTUALLY said it is no less than I would expect in the most part.
Who thinks a competent CEO would in his position say : I would rather be the business that is my biggest competitor in the market.
We are unhappy with the initial numbers since re-opening.
We don't think there is a strong recovery and future for the business.
He said what I would expect in his usual fashion and I am content (for now) with that.
As he said we are not yet at the BIG movies, they are coming soon and we can all start to gather a much stronger picture once few of them have been.
Hopeful (reasonably) optimistic, happy holding :-)
Understand why so is in the area it is (personally feel it is nearing the lower end of range we could reasonably expect it to be c. 85 - 110 just now).
Happy Thursday and hopefully last month of losses for the business :-)
