The relatively very low numbers just now and the position of vaccine rollout is exactly the reason to have this current move to 19July.
By not taking the action the UK are now at these levels is precisely why we had wave 1 and wave 2 results as they were.
By the time UK took action it was too late and the costs were high in human lives and prolonged (half ar53d) restrictions.

EXPONENTIAL GROWTH , it's how the virus works.
If you wait until transmission, hospitalisation and deaths are high(er) than current levels you end up in a **** show.
ANY delays are extremely costly.
Latest example is delaying Indian travel inwards.
Result - BOOM this extension to when "Freedom day" is.
It seems to take Boris a fail or two then he at least nearly gets it right next time.
Correct to have this short delay IMHO.
Good news for Cineworld and many other businesses in the bigger picture.

Jab jab jabs. This next month allows country to go from "not that well protected" to very well protected against this variant and potential new variants.
What I mean by not that well covered is that second vaccines and the c. 10 days - 3 weeks after required for full protection is significantly greater than one vaccine cover.
Think news said period would take from c. 55% to potentially c.80% adults with this needed cover.
Also gives time to target the vaccine avoiders/unsure/missed etc and at least give some of them some cover.
