RE: 19th July appears to be the new date11 Jun 2021 22:35
Most of the UK seem to keep getting this wrong and speak of a delay.
It has ALWAYS been a staged re-opening plan "ON DATA NOT DATES".
With the last stage at 21June being THE EARLIEST date dependant on the data.
It is an England decision, not full UK.
It is pretty unlikely to be any more than 4 weeks.
4 weeks after more than a year of in out shake it all about uncertainty is NOTHING.
Might cost Cineworld a few million bottom line at worst.
Will be a shame for first 1 or 2 MEGA movies (FF9 and Black Widow), but not end world and it's is ONLY England/UK and contrary to what many in UK think at times there is a big world outside these shores.
Permeant and irreversible, at last after a year of largely making a pig's ear of every delayed decision or rushed decision the UK government seem to be getting closer to decent decisions.
Personally I would far rather we delay for c. 4 weeks now and keep border movements limited (wish they were and had been FAR more limited, but hey).
Another 4 - 6 weeks of vaccinations vaccinations vaccinations now should/will put us in much better place.
Deaths and Hospitalisations being low now is NOT everything. We MUST reduce spread as this is what reduces variants and ultimately reduces chances of variant(s) that do evade vaccines undoing all/much of the good work.
So, potentially (probably) a little more short term pain in UK for a lot more medium and long term gain.
I can take that :-)
If I urgently needed cash from share holding I may be influenced by that and see things differently.
Let's all be patient here (share holding) and as nation and reap both share price and life normality benefits little down the line.
Just a little bit longer, hold on.
