RE: Airlines to enforce mask wearing6 Jul 2021 21:02
For a period of time at least it would "to me" make sense for all to continue wearing masks when indoors in busy areas for a prolonged period.
The issue with the government's apparent plan for 19th onwards was covered well on news I watched at one point last night.
The person being interviewed on subject was very good explaining the importance of clear directives which UK government has often failed on.
By removing mask wearing from law in itself is not exactly the issue, but it is without saying it a message that comes over as masks aren't really required.
(I haven't worded/explained that as well as I would like).
On balance I do not feel cinema attendance is currently or would be for some time materially effected by requirements to wear mask.
For every person against them I am sure there is one or more want them currently.
Cineworld and Mooky have been questioned here by some at different points.
Last time was on re-opening and then suddenly when he made statement after opening as he had something to actually say i.e. Peter Rabbit opening well/consessions sales also (was it!?).
He has repeatedly stated safety of staff and customers is a priority and he will follow local government guidelines.
Don't see why he would now make a separate statement to say this yet again.
Also remember as of today he can't actually announce on the subject with certainty as the UK government is yet to confirm move.
Not forgetting the other devolved governments.
In Mooky I trust.
Do you!? (Not directed at any individual, a board wide question).
Regards an option to have mask/non mask specific showings.
That's just an added completely complication and not really workable.
Look at your local cinema scheduling for any week.
Closest would probably be to have during week daytime screenings when less busy as the non mask screenings.
Let's see when the time comes.
We need the volume of people going to increase, the number of movies to increase and subsequently the box office and concessions take to increase is or should be our only real focus now.
