Nice start to the day.........chill out everyone

Lovely early morning run around Central Park, time for breakfast now and then into central Manhattan for a bit of shopping. Just chucked £70k into IAG and £30k into EZJ.......will wait and hold for a £5k profit and then exit......and just continue the rinse & repeat......only way to make real money on the sector.

NorthScot - as I said on Friday, I have a hard rule about exiting as soon as my SP target has been reached. Didn't expect it to hit 179 on Friday, but got out when it did just before close. Always good to add to existing cash reserves on my trading account. Wife is flying to JFK tomorrow (assessing a newly qualified Captain), even as an experienced training captain, she's really looking forward to US routes opening up properly. Huge amount of scheduled traffic in/out of JFK tomorrow, so will give the newly qualified Captain some good experience.

Only natural to have a small retrace on any FTSE100 stock following a 5% rise on previous trading day. Will head north by end of week.

NorthScot - time will tell - plenty of trading opportunities in the whole sector over the next few weeks. Got my IAG exit price on the Friday afternoon late rally. 179 got me my £10k profit target and money now banked. Should pay for the household energy bills for next 2 years (including the 30%+ rise coming next April).

Laughable comments about this being 'Oversold' - repeating the 'Oversold' comment almost daily is pointless. There are robust reasons why the SP has crashed all the way down to £25 range from £60.

Looks like it's found a higher trading range now. As I mentioned a while ago, if it broke 630 and held.......then the signs are good. Happy to keep short term trading across the whole sector.

No they won't - 2 key reasons: (1) They don't work, (2) Economic. Life just moves on.

"But do I want to go back to intense price watching again? ".........for someone who posts 24/7 on this board, I'm sure you have have the time.

All looking positive for now for the sector. Still holding my £8k paper profit on IAG, hopefully will see an additional uplift next week. I still think it's probable that EZJ will break through £7 by December. A few bumps along the way, but overall the signs for the whole sector is looking positive

Tomorrow will be interesting - I'm positive on SP post results announcement. Monday will also be interesting, the psychological barrier of Transatlantic opening still has a positive effect to play.

NorthScot......agree short term trading has been the most successful approach for me on Airline shares. The non-airline part of my portfolio consists of mainly medium to longer term trades. Dabble in a few random others whenever I think there is a good opportunity, but only one's I have researched previously so feel comfortable with an entry and exit price. Off to Gatwick in a mo as EZJ daughter has her regular Simulator training this afternoon. Doesn't want the stress of driving before her Sim assessment.

NorthScot - in my experience, the only way to make decent money on Airline shares is to trade them on a regular basis. I have one very hard and fast rule........Buy on the big down days and take what you consider to be acceptable profits when you can. I've seen lots of comments from people who expect to hold for 'Years'. To me, that's a total waste of time.

NorthScot - Airline shares will rise into December.......so just let the trolls continue to vent their anger and frustration. I'm only interested in making money.
