I would have thought byd would put out a spec sheet then it's up to the mine to produce up to that. The amount of reserves should be important as that shows they can supply up to the timeframe.

I think znwd is tied to emh in more than the physical sense. Gomet seems I no hurry and are targeting 2026 so long time to wait. People moving on to not miss opertunity in other shares. Personally the long time frame adds risk.

To be honest I sold down znwd and emh ages ago as they are in danger of turning into zombie projects. I keep a close eye on them though. All lith mines in EU are stalled dirty tricks me thinks??? It will not save them though.

What has happened is big auto have stalled on ev. They have not a f**ing clue. Look at VW the pr**cks appointed directors to sort out electronics and software for ev. Instead of working together they competed the result is nothing works and porche threatening to use apple software. The ones in the know have already sorted raw materials for next 10 years. All these plans are bullshiy they have the wrong battery technology and not nimble enough to change. When the end comes it will be brutal.

You have a very valid point EU has a major downer on lithium at moment. Slowing mines down now looking at raw materials. Sounds like a bit of back scratching going on at high levels. If they think it will save big Auto they are sadly mistaken on that. ICE car sales down 20% and the Chinese are coming they are on brink of being wiped out.

I find it difficult to work out the mindset of Europeans. Germany has made it difficult for Tesla to open gigs Berlin. They have problems recruiting staff that's a job unskilled above 20k and skilled at 34k.The Portuguese has now shut the door on Savanna resources mine. Too late. BYD are the most integrated manufacturing out there only TESLA is on same page. They have spent 3billion rembi on this. The Chinese have picked junior mines because they need to accelerate because of the amount of lith needed. Also at brilliant price because of the risk. The EU has lost already the Chinese are coming they will do to the Auto industry what the Japanese did to the motorcycle industry. In a few years after EU auto is wiped out EU will legislate to protect the rump.

As a point to make on battery and solar. I have built a 15kwh battery out of second hand laptop batteries. I have 5.2kw of solar on South facing roof. I am on oil for heating but use electric to heat water. Last week I used £1.38 of electric off the grid and no oil to heat water. With a reasonable price of say £8000 you could have a brand new LFP battery system with decent inverters that would work except for winter quarter. I save about £1200 a year and get paid circa£450 for exported power. If it was at community level I am sure it would be cheaper as scale would work in your favour then.

Byd has bought 6 African lithium mines. I cannot see who they are not much info at moment. This will supply for next 10 years.

The biggest bottleneck is nickel. The price is horrendous This is why auto is rotating into LFP cells. The energy density is lower than NCM cells but is catching up fast. I think these cells use more lithium/kg
