VW had 5000 software engineers working on CARIAD now they are debugging. What I am looking at is the sales drop as Tesla ramps up and reduces prices. Even ID 3 and id4 not competative. They backwards looking board thing diesel is the answers but the market says no. Not just VW though Mercedes has made a right balls up in China ruined their reputation with the EQS

My take is VW has huge problems with CARIAD so the board said slow down converting production to EV until software is debuted. Let's not forget there is thousands of EV with crap info and entertainment systems. Customers were promised a fix in short order this has not happened so it's hit the fan. I cannot see how the board can think they have loads of time as sales are literally falling off a cliff. This internal warfare will finnish VW to many people pulling different ways. Tesla is coming down the track like an express train going to wipe them out. When price drop on model y and 3 hit it bye bye VW.

Yes the right route is well established as it's connected to finance. Pre feasiblity all the way to production finance. These are legally bound studies that are fixed in geology and must comply to standards set down.

Musk has been looking at lithium rich sands in Nevada. Tesla has a propitiatory system for extracting lith. But with the 4860 ramp is Tesla to short on time to develop this and needs to go for more traditional supply if there is a projected squeeze.
