We have both, EV generally suck for distance driving but ok for commuting locally. Long EU trips are done in the diesel.

Anyway, my only point was that most EV tech is coming out of China, they cannot compete or need to with legacy ICE manufacturers.

Nearly all their cars are affordable, unlike stuff like Lucid...

I mean, China owns Volvo, Saab (now under something else), MG and a few others.

But the UK's push for EV without the back up on infrastructure or supply is not a smart move. Bare in mind the push is NOT from the EU as Brexit solved that issue.... or did it?

China could never compete with the rest when it comes to ICE cars, so they do EV's and they do EV's really well. Toyota have partenered with them to a couple of years back to build EV;s.

China is way ahead of the curve when it comes to EV's, German and other Western manufacturers are not even close.

My BMW EV is made in China....

I also do not think the Chinese are thinking about selling to the West, they want to not be reliant on the West, only a good thing, bare in mind how often the 'West; keeps saying they want to make their own stuff and not be reliant on 'cheap' Chinese product.
