As Colin pointed out in the RNS, this project was previously owned by Vale. Like Luansobe, these projects have history behind them but the copper market nosedived, Zambian politics became difficult and the copper remained in the ground. But in a changing political environment, rising copper price and improved sentiment then it is fair to expect a good outcome with these projects. And with the Afrimat deal we have cash on its way and hopefully no need to raise further funds.

I think a tier 1 copper asset in a safe country with 2 m/t of copper was worth £60 million. Plus a quick sale promised. Trouble is it was all b/s !.

It is a disappointing drop but people need money to pay their increased mortgages and rent and high risk AIM investments not a priority for most.

I am surprised how many licence applications are deferred or rejected. Good to see we passed with no issues.

Cy - glad you show such optimism in GBP. By next year we will probably be in recession, a Labour Government on the horizon and GBP nose diving. We should have done the deal in ounces of gold ......!

I see China has been making mischief at the UN over our colonial occupation of the Malvinas. They must want the oil for themselves.

Colin has lithium at GLR but it has made no difference to the shareprice. The markets are poor generally and despite copper holding up well sentiment on the exploration plays is dire. But that might be for good reason .......

I am surprised by the muted shareprice reaction. It is still a considerable sum in relation to the market cap of GLR. The shareholdings in Sandfire and now Afrimat are 2 valuable investments going forward - which as pointed out can be sold if needed.

Hopefully the next news will be an update on Luansobe which can't be far away.

Having Afrimat shares is fine as they look a good investment. But l have to admit l do share some of PLs sentiment. It could potentially slow investment in our own projects or require a fund raise. Will be interesting to get Colins take on matters.

Ma - the $5 lb is the figure fron the original jorc from memory - l remember it in Icebergs write ups.

True about AA but they still have control at the moment.

I can't remember the near neighbours but the Chinese were one l think. Until AA relinquish their rights it doesn't really matter at the moment.

Ma - AA want projects where copper can be produced at under $2 lb. I think the original Bushranger feasibility showed profitability at something like $5 lb. Until we know the new price metrics the project is a no go for AA - unless they change their metrics. Other companies near by would be in a better position to develop it ?.

In the TIR RNS today Colin said their AGM will be late July or August. Doesn't he have the AGMs of his various companies on the same day ?.

PL - Comparing AIM and GLR on a 5 year chart, l make AIM down 28% and GLR down 20%. Either we need significant news or AIM to change trend and buyers to return. Many investors won't buy into a downtrend.

Haven't heard from Oilsup for a while .. . Hope he is well.

I bet Colin is hoping the money arrives quickly having had to shell out more money in the AFP placing today !.
