His Excellency Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Francisco da Costa Monteiro presented Tuesday in the Council of Ministers, a request for authorization for expenditure for the development of the Greater Sunrise gas field and guarantee oil to Timor-Leste. His Excellency Minister Monteiro justifies that any expenditure with a value of more than 5 million, must be authorized by the Council of Ministers, to initiate a study, geophysical and seismic with ultra-high resolution (UHRS) related to the Greater Sunrise gas export pipeline and the Bayu Undan pipeline, which is essential to the project planning.
Regarding the negotiations, Minister Monteiro said that the technical negotiation process resumed in October, after intense negotiations with partners from Australia, to negotiate the Petroleum Mining Code, Tax Regime and Production Sharing Contract. Osaka Gas, Woodside and TIMOR GAP, E.P., talked to the state of Timor-Leste and Australia to establish an investability regime, to allow companies to transition to the legal framework for investment in Greater Sunrise and TLNG and a follow-up meeting will take place in December. Currently, preparations from Suai Supply Base - SSB, highway and specific technical study on pipelines to Natarbora are underway.
