labongus, seem to recall that Anadarko also wanted to take over the company. Imagine the furore if the BOD had 'sold out' at such an early stage with the potential that the basin had. Premier didn't, offered the best deal at the time and as a result, we are still in the game.

Why why why do people keep blaming the RKH BOD for lack of progress / FID not happening. How many times does it have to be stated that this decision is out of Rockhopper's hands? That decision was handed over to PMO way back when 60% of Sea Lion was sold. Like it or not that appears to have been the only option on the table at the time and prevented RKH doing a DES or FOGL.

Yes its been a long painful and expensive wait however we are now closer than we have ever been. Things are happening in the background (as discussed here). A little more patience could pay dividends. All based on my own research. Please do yours.

Does the fact that a PMO director has been buying shares mean that no significant news will be released in the near future e.g. Sea Lion FID? What are the time limits imposed between directors buying and news being released?

PMO's finance director has been buying shares recently. Obviously sees good value in them at the moment.

"As for Sea Lion, activity continues, whilst the LOI’s are converted to contracts and many reports are written on a number of technical and environmental subjects there is still the matter of Governmental assistance and as can be imagined they are quite busy at the moment. Debt is falling, the target of $300-400m is only dependent of timings of cargoes sold and the year end target of $2.4bn is perfectly achievable. (Think $400m at $80 oil, nearer $270m at $65) With the company generating decent free cash flow and with production solidly increasing the opportunities at Catcher,Tolmount and in Mexico give some room for further upside. Sea Lion is crucial to this company in the next decade and even at $65 is a surefire winner so must be pursued at rapidly as possible. Company opex stays at $17-18 and F/Y capex is down to $365 from a planned $380m also helping the numbers including of course significant debt reduction."

42 working days to end of year. FID could and should be announced on any one of them. PMO hasn't said otherwise.

Agreed on the gentle recovery (I know nothing about charts).

No reason whatsoever for the recent share price drop other than keeping in line with the rest of the market. No bad news or even hints of bad news at this stage. FID getting even closer. Doubt they will wait until 31st Dec to say it's been pushed back. An article I read the other day suggested we are waiting for FIG to sign off before FID is stamped by PMO. Could coincide with what Garbs has been saying about oil men visiting FI in New Year.

Greenspot, FID and Sanction won't happen simultaneously, they are two separate processes. FID is PMO's decision to commit financing for the project. Sanction is when all other parties have signed up. If FID slips into the new year then expect sp to drift down in response.

Personally, I'm still hopeful of FID being reached by year end in line with PMO's aspirations.
