With you all the way there siddo, Jeff comes across as a bit of an arrogant so and so at times. I understood that you didn't mean literally, nothing had changed as I'm sure he did. He just couldn't resist a kneejerk put down. I have also been invested for as long as you, 77 years old. Much of my not insignificant holding was purchased at 12.5p and I also held on during the the £7 era but still up over £100K, so I guess in Jeff's eyes I am also not invested. My advice for what it's worth is ignore and move on.

For green hydrogen from electrolysis, the cost is predominantly dependent on the cost of renewable energy. With a stable low-cost supply of renewable energy, a viable supply of hydrogen can be put in place using electrolyzer technology. We can then conceive a plant producing green steel, including hydrogen based DRI production, EAF steelmaking supplied with renewable power, and all combustion process using energy efficient oxyfuel with hydrogen as a fuel. As the electrolyzer produces both hydrogen and oxygen, we would then have a complete integrated system. A quick search revealed the following information regarding waste oxygen from the PEM in the steel industry. "While the primary long-term focus for deep decarbonization is the Hydrogen-DRI (Direct Reduced Iron) route, which bypasses the traditional blast furnace entirely, integrating PEM-derived hydrogen and oxygen into existing Blast Furnaces is a major area of short- to mid-term research to reduce emissions from existing infrastructure"

However to put this into perspective, producing just 1 kilogram of cotton requires around 10,000 liters of water and a cotton t-shirt requires around 2,700 liters of water to produce. (this what happens when you can't go to the pub on a Saturday night, wonder how many litres of water it takes to brew a pint of beer)

The ALPHA50 quotes maximum H2 Production at 900 kg/hr, using these figures that's 18 cubic metres of water per hour, or 432 cm per 24 hour operation at full power.
