You could argue that white will take over from green, but then electrolysers are useful for taking the load from renewables when not needed. I suppose, it then follows that if white is found in such quantities, it could be used to provide power through distributed fuel cells. Think of the water that could also provide in arid regions. It opens up a whole new set of scenarios. Blows the current thinking sky high.
