I guess for facts, you only have to calculate the total charge current for the total UK car fleet (assuming all are battery electric) at an annual mileage of 10, 000 miles. The total current required would make yours eyes water, l guess. I'm not enough of a geek to do it, but I can make a good guess at the order of magnitude, phew! . Also I can imagine the smug looks of the HEVs as they drive past the queues to fill up at the hydrogen pumps in 4 to 5 mins.

I think Smithy's hypophoric questions were relevant to the situation he was describing, not so sure about,

How many people today wait until their engine is running on fumes before biting the bullet and going for fuel, because they dislike the hassle of queuing behind one or two cars at the pump, or hoping the missus will do the job next time she drives the car? You can see it now at motorway service stations, scowling people queuing to charge up, watching the smug drivers of hydrogen cars refuelling at the adjacent pumps in and out in ten minutes, even if they have to wait for a pump. Comforting themselves with the efficiency mantra.
