Mls, I wish, but this looks like they have drilled through Eocene, taken their cuttings samples at various intervals and reached the bottom of the potential production zone for the Eocene. They, as expected will/are logging the open hole across the original and newly drilled section before drilling onto the U.C. Not much response as it shows progress and not a get rick quick scheme. So far all as expected and no drama.
Will check in later.

Well 37 drilled by Socar in 2008 produced about 160bbls a day according to socar and the azeri news. One can only assume the decline to 5 bbls was due to mechanical failure, possibly sanding . I have posted ref the sanding issue in the past and recall being encouraged that zen were talking about the issue at some point and were considering the the use of gravel packs.
Despite information from zen to the contrary I still have doubts about testing at this level and would not be surprised to see them drill to TD. Point being.. don't panic if they don't flow test it, it doesn't mean that its dead. In earlier days they were planning to deepen 20-30m, flow test and then if they achieved a valuable rate were going to forget about drilling further. If the rate was carp or below the level of being 'exciting enough' they were going to drill into the Upper cretaceous. Now they are going directly for the U.C it may negate the point for testing a zone that they already know produces oil. Anyhow, we shall see. Either way it matters not, I am just posting an alternative that would make reasonable sense if we don't see any flow testing.

Nope, they are at the stage we think they are at, how quickly they go from here is of course an unknown. They will just drill straight through to TD or when they decide enough is enough. They have been drilling for about a week, they have been all the way in and out and back in again during this time. Cuttings are being analysed which means they have to be oil soaked or there would be no point analysing dry rock looking for oil unless one is a nutter. Unlikely given the pedigree of the geologist. T.D will be reached by the end of the month.
Red fire engine workover may..hopefully get C30 ready and may even be used to deepen it. Faster and more agile. It will like.y depend upon the complexity of c37 as to whether it could manage the job. Good to see that it is still on the books and about ready to rumble.

So far, all going pretty much to plan after a slightly delayed start and the misleading 'start of drilling' tweet around the 14th. Anyhow, S7, tks for posting the cuttings tweet, it looks like a positive. They are taking it seriously and will ( guess) be checking the oil content in the cuttings over a time period so as to establish an approximate depth of oil column before running a logging tool later. They are clearly drilling ahead and with growing confidence in the machine should manage a drill stand in a shift (hopefully) 30m, therefore we could be attacking that cap next week. Although, they may only get 10m a day which seems pretty lousy but tbh I recall 10m taking an entire day ( 2 shifts) on several occasions once upon a long time ago with even more powerful equipment than this monster rig.

Thanks from me too wrt to your eloquent delivery of the information relating to the structure. You may have noticed, I am a little more basic in my description but we have pretty much agreed on the expected progress and timing. I recall saying..very slowly at the beginning, much quicker in the middle and very very slowly at the end. This was based on initial familiarisation of the rig whilst drilling Immediately into a production zone, then 'horsing through' the next 100m or so slowing down when starting to break into the upper Cretaceous. I also mentioned at some point that they would need decent well control to take care of any kicks or downhole pressure differentials as the last thing we want is a gusher at the well head that is out of contol. Anyhow, please keep posting your version, it all makes sense. Any hint of the structure being oil saturated will project this SP skywards as it infers the existence of that 40-50 million bbls recoverable. About a month to wait.

That 700bbls a day came from well C22 which is close to C37, it can be seen in the 2019 presentation (if you can open it from their web page), hence the decision to deepen C37 in an attempt to replicate.

It will take more than one item of positive news plus some proof of success in the new approach to boost sentiment but yes indeed, it is on the floor and therefore a tempting or dare I say good place from which to build a holding position. (no advice intended). Other news amongst similar sized oilers has not been great lately either, MATD, BLOE, AAOG etc which is not helping the overall sentiment with small O&G companies, that with the fact it is holiday season and thin trading in general and we now have a total balloon in charge of the country who seems intent on driving us over the cliff edge without a parachute or any operational braking system. No surprise things are a bit downbeat. (sound like victor mildew don't I. Sorry about that all) :)

Fracking may not be advantageous with the geology. Ask Ageos to confirm it.
End of Sept +/- will see this well reach the bottom. It has taken almost a year to get to this point on this one well, AC has said that it will be taken slowly. Trust me, I want it to be finished and producing 300+ bbls by lunchtime but it wont be.

Kam. There wont be any results yet, the drilling activity will just continue down to TD. there will be sampling, logging, maybe coring, and then running a completion string. Some time yet, however, in the meantime some info/guidance on current depth or indicators from cuttings returns would be useful.

Try putting in an order pre-open and set yourself a limit to what you want to pay and then see if it gets filled. Hitting the buy button on open and trying to get a confirmed price might be a tad tricky unless you are lucky. Otherwise wait a few weeks for the froth to blow over and buy before they redesign the ewt program.
