Agreed. Its stating a Nov decision timeframe overall.
Of course BA and Shell execs have visited - theyve recently pumped in a few million pounds. However time will indeed tell if they plan to put anymore in, or just ride the PR wave for another 18 months or so until VLS run out of money (again). This plant is a 400 million pound proposition - It'll need BA and Shell to stump up a significant sum to go toward the construction in order to get the banks interested. With no guarantees that the the process will actually work, we'll need to see if anyone will get comfortable enough to dig deep and put in the 100 million of capital needed to kick it off.

This is true, however from a financing perspective its a very different proposition to a power station. Adding flood defenses by effectively raising the entire project off the ground or building defense walls will come at considerable expense. When adding the total cost of the project to the fact this this a the first ever waste to fuels plant to be built will add to the cost of finance in terms of risk. I'm not saying that its an impossible task by any mean - Im saying that raising finance for this type of plant, on this site, with the risk mitigation needed, will be a challenge.

Possibly the fact that the site is below sea level ans situated on the flood plain that completely floods every few years?

Probably explains why the site has never been built on....

some good buys today. Ive read the planning app and it looks very good quality. I don't see any issue with getting the Planning Permission approved.
The biggest challenge will be getting the project financed - these are not cheap ; this one is probably half a billion pounds so will take a brave financier to fund a first of type project. Lets see how brave Shell is...

He said was that the submissions were under additional review (ie, additional scrutiny) which may explain the continual delay - nothing about a change in criteria being introduced. Looks like you have misread the post.

ive now ruled out anything from the F4C. A contact of mine who attended the last meeting told me that projects seeking funding are now under additional review for commercial and technical viability to a level that was not in place prior. I honestly don't think we (if anyone) will get the money due to on-going pressures on government funding.

because the VLS fuel wont be 3 times the price. The Neste fuel is expensive because the feedstock is expensive. Our feedstock is free.

no airline will pay triple the price. They'll just buy carbon offsets instead.

Would be a good solution if the tax was spent on helping waste to fuel projects get funding!

As Roman isn't favored by the British Government (no visa for you!), I do wonder if this may affect the awarding of a large UKGov grant, via the F4C?

Very ambiguous. the placing is just a placing - nothing new here and typical further investor value erosion.
However, the BA/Shell piece is pretty clear to me. My take on this is that Shell/BA have not increased their investment and the 7m placing just adds to what was committed by shell/BA last year. In other words, this is not an additional 2.8m - its merely a reminder that Shell and BA committed to supporting VLS, in conjunction with the F4C. The suggestion now is that they will use that prior commitment to fund the FEED.

And there was an announcement to delay the final decision. I think that a pretty good command of fact.

I think the price has plummeted for bigger reasons.

Just heard from a reliable source who attended a DFT Meeting, that the F4C announcements have been pushed back to Autumn. the reason for the push-back is due to concerns over the technical and commercial viability of some of the submissions.
This does not bode well atall.

The F4C has been delayed. I personally think VLS is driving the F4C process and they are asking the DFT for more time. Remember that the 2nd stage of the grant funding is for construction capital. We are nowhere near that yet,
Its a foregon conclusion that we will receive F4C money, but this needs to be matched by BA and Shell.
