...it could be the Lanzajet Uk ambition as referred to in the press recently, just being spun into a Chinese whisper.

I’ve been told by a colleague in the waste industry that another waste to jet fuel company will be announcing a UK project next Thursday. No idea who it is - assuming it’s genuine.
What’s the consensus on the effect to the VLS sp should this turn out to be true?

Sense will be alone in a minute with his long list of positives (which i agree with btw), so you should read them before you make a move. What will drive this sp going forward is external factors related to aviation emission abatement rather than the progress of VLS themselves. The introduction of supportive policy, mandates, grant awards etc will prompt buyers to come into the space. If its only the BoD you're looking at, even Jimmy Saville wouldn't touch it.

I agree with Sense. Its absurd to grant a quarter of a million pounds worth of options (free money) to the CEO. He should be putting some of his own wages (which come from us via placings) into the company and show some commitment. Says a lot really.

For interest, Lanzajet, as they are called are a development company who license other peoples tech. The process they use to convert ethanol to jet fuel was actually developed by Pacific Northwest laboratory.

This is little like WasteFuel who are seemingly using other people's tech for their own business ambitions.

I take announcement like this as a positive for VLS. It simply means that momentum is building and people are gaining interest. Crunch time will raising construction capital, but there is rime to play the share before then.

imho, technology development is where they should focus. They have good equipment that is starting to come back into favour, particularly on the back of low carbon.

The main reason why they 'pivoted to renewable fuels' as they put it, was because they needed to get their FT equipment into the market as nobody else was buying their kit. Its seem like a different landscape now.
AltAlto, despite being a good idea is a step too far for them. They just don't have the experience in raising the finance needed to develop and construct it.

There arent many waste to fuel options available, so could be VLS? Or perhaps Fulcrum.

Granted they are on a boat of sorts, but I don’t think it’s the type of boat they really need. Anyone can secure planning permission and contract out a FEED. But not everyone can raise project finance.

They miss the boat because they are not project developers. They are technology developers. This has been the main issue since they pivoted to fuel production rather than sticking with what they know best. I just don’t think they are keyed into the right circles.

Easy now Sense. It’s not built yet!
Let’s see if they make it through this year.

What I find of particular interest in this article is the fact that the plant will be built in the Philippines, but the fuel will be shipped to California and used by biz jet using corporates.
A bit like making products in a southeast Asian sweatshop for use by well heeled western consumers.

That is interesting indeed Loosely. That said, the Lanzatech process is totally different to VLS, but Worley is pushing its low carbon involvement nonetheless.
