Turd. I think your summary of the challenges associated with getting to first base with this SAF plants, even after initial tranches of investment (in the 100’s of millions) sums it up. VLS haven’t got a cat in hells chance.

Real money Thurg. Not a few hundred thousand or a couple of million. Red Rock have finance a plant, Fulcrum have financed a plant, lanzatecgbjabe financed a plant, Lanzajet have financed a plant, Gevo have financed a plant.
Velocys has to rely on shareholders just to keep the lights on. What is so bad about the company that nobody wants to put money in?

What struck me was how everyone else seems to have the ability to access large amounts of funding (public and grant), yet VLS still struggle.
Also lots of hints of what’s just around the corner. Unfortunately, we’ve had similar hints for years but nothing seems to materialise.

Lip service in extremis! With their wages and bonuses (funded through placings and grants), this pittance purchase is laughable.
Let’s see some meaningful buys by the people in the know!!

A good example of a project that has been financed, still needing additional finance to complete. And this is a company that has a history of project development and inter related construction companies.
VLS have some serious challenges ahead.

What news? Planning Permission is done and no project without Policy hence no investor interest.

Lanzajet: US based business, well funded, technology proven, US fuels policy supportive of SAF production enabling projects to happen.

VLS: UK based, perpetually underfunded, technology unproven, UK fuels policy needed to support SAF production, otherwise no project.

Good luck to those buying in based on the facts. Will need policy news to spike.

This is a commitment from IAG, not just BA. Note that LanzaTech has been put before VLS. Subtle, but telling.

Let me break this down a bit. The waste to fuel process, say, has 10 pieces of equipment which make up the entire process. The VLS technology is on of these 10 pieces of equipment.
VLS has demonstrated its own piece, but they have not demonstrated all the 10 pieces together.

It’s like saying a company has designed a great engine (the FT reactor), but nobody has demonstrated the car (AltAlto) into which the engine (FT reactor) will go, but is still expecting an investor to buy the car (AltAlto).
