The license is permission to build a gas processing plant on our land in Slovenia close to the gas field which in turn would enable Ascent to sell gas direct to the Slovenian gas grid increasing revenues by about 30%. Regarding the strategic review the IPPC license is obviously a very important development (which was expected in due course) that they will be taking on board in their deliberations.".
Regarding the well permits Ascent are hopeful these will be granted in due course.

Obviously the permits to re-stimulate wells 10 and 11a are absolute key to Ascent.
Ironically the IPPC permit is less important now INA buy our raw gas at the border. It would however be welcome as it would add a lot of value (Companies other than INA could do a jv or make a bid).
The permits for the wells would give the market renewed confidence in the gas fields FULL potential.
Without them I think all AST could do is batton down the hatches, reduce the headcount to bare minimum and squeeze as much money out of wells 10 and 11a as possible. Let's not forget we have producing assetts. Then save as much money up as possible before buying a small Company outside Slovenia. I would hold on to the assets in Slovenia for as long as possible to prevent any other Co. taking advantage. We could place a nice advert in their papers pointing out how their politicians have prevented investment in a new gas field, caused people to loose their jobs and more importantly destroyed all future investment and the many new jobs that would have been created. A total disaster for Slovenia. Also who on earth would invest there if that happened. No-one........

Your post is one of the most sensible and level headed I have seen is a long time. Makes very good sense indeed. As you say there is no reason for the permits not to be granted. Indeed we know the so called IPPC permit allowing the building of a gas processing plant so Ascent can sell direct to the Slovenian grid was previously issued only to be revoked due to a procedural issue. I honestly can't see how they could not issue that permit now the new procedure has been followed. The only thing I disagree with is your sp prediction assuming we get all three permits. With the permits the market will be eying the potential of the whole gas field once again. The permits to re-stimulate the existing two wells would set a precedent for the future permits. I'm convinced very, very shortly after we get the permits for re-stimulating the wells a jv will be done, I expect with INA. So all the permits plus a jv to follow and I really think we will be 2.5 to 3p. With all the permits we could also get a bid instead of a jv. Again 2.5 to 3p would be on the cards IMHO.

Ok, big assumption, but nevertheless. In my opinion, it will not have a positive effect on the 'SP', until the costs associated have been confirmed, then proof that the re-stimulation has significantly improved production capability. Could all be in vain and have zero effect on flow rates
. What will happen to the 'SP' then? Every move is currently a big gamble here.

Hello. Fair enough. My opinion is if they grant the permits for re-stimulating the existing 2 wells it sets a precedent, as in they are likely to grant permits for the rest of the wells when they are applied for. I think that would be massive good news for Ascent. Clearly being able to re-stimulate the wells is key to the gas field being commercially viable. My opinion is it's highly likley the gas field will be commercially viable provided the wells can be stimulated or dare I say the word fracked. Fracking is not banned in Slovenia. In fact it has been carried out for decades. Apparently it's not fracking in the USA massive industrial scale of course. Far, far smaller scale.
To me it is highly likely the permits will arrive as there is no reason why they should not. I expect the sp to recover to 2p ish levels once the permits are received. Assuming they are received I think a jv is extremely likely (probably with INA). Once thet news is out I think we will be back to around the 2.5 to 3p level.
We will be finding out soon I think.

Ascent, or should I say Geoenergo responded to the Govenments queries on the IPPC license permit and the two well permits. I believe they gave Ascent 3 or 4 weeks to respond. Hope it works both ways!
If I worked in that dept I would buy a shed load of Ascent shares before issuing the IPPC license and selling on the news @ what...... 2p. Then same for the well licenses @ what...... 2.5p? Do they have Ferrari's and porches in the car park. Probably fully of super cars. LOL!

issued an IPPC permit once (only for it to be revoked on some procedural issue) I would be wondering if they ever had, or ever will issue one. Believe it or not that is good. At least they have them and can issue them!!!

you know, the ones that drilled pg11a, then partially blocked it up when they had a bad day I believe must have access to the data room information as a matter of course already own 12.5%of the project.
Apparently at one of the share holder meetings Clive was asked if any of the Co's asking for access to the data room were Slovenian he said no. BUT Petrol would not need to ask would they? So his answer could have been correct and Petrol could be lining up a bid from the new company they have just formed.

be interested in Ascent. As I said earlier they have enough gas to supply the whole of Europe for 100 years! They do not however want any competition. What's the betting they lobby the politicians to buy their gas and screw any other gas Companies?? Those Slovenian politicians need to wake up and see Russia has a total hold over their energy supplies. being a member of the EU means you should take notice of what the EU say as in try to become less dependent on Russia. Why not develop your own gas field, or are you being paid off not to????

I think it would be easier for them to surpress any competition. They have enough gas to supply Europe for 100 years apparently. Also if they are supplying the gas from outside the Country it gives Putin leverage over the Slovenian Government. What if he cuts them off? They would be totally and utterly crippled. No electric, no gas......... no hope.
This is why Trump and the EU have realised us and Europe are totally reliant on Russian gas and oil. Unfortunately to save money the whole of Eurpoe have become totally and utterly dependant on Russia. It's all very sad. The idiots running the EU should have acted 20 years ago to stop this situation ever happening. Glad we are leaving the EU. They have Greece, Slovenia, Spain. Italy, Portugal etc... Why would we want to be tied to that lot!!! If you talk about permits for instance (lets put the massive debt to one side for a moment) Italy have an even worse reputation that Slovenia believe it or not. Total joke.

Hello. Conceivably the people who objected to the IPPC permit delaying it for the first what......... 3 years could be influencing the people that work in the Government. Also it would be in Gazproms interests if Slovenia never develops it's own gas supply for very obvious reasons.
