Thursday 5th July, 12 days ago. I just hope once you get to this stage in the permitting cycle with queries raised/answered etc. it's faster than the initial application response which takes about six months!!!

Hello. That is obviously a possibility. Having said that 25% of future profits would be split between Geoenergo and Petrol. My gut feeling is it's not corruption. I think they are chronically understaffed and are in no rush to do anything. I think they are not that bothered that it takes several months for them to respond to an initial permit application. Probably think it is quite acceptable in fact. Glad we are leaving the EU!!! They will get there in the end. Just hope I have not died of old age first.

be aware the permit delays cause huge problems, not least of which is delaying job creation in their Country. If I were a Slovenian I think I'd be rather annoyed that my Countries prosperity is being damaged by my own Governments either lack of staff, corruption or is it both? Oh well. One more day closer to getting the permits I suppose if you want to put a positive spin on things!!!! I don't see how they can not issue the IPPC permit as it has been issued before only to be revoked by a reason that could have been challenged in court (maybe should have). Any more excuses will indiicate corruption in my view as I believe there are no ligitemate excuses left. The flipping gas processor might not be built anyway for heavens sake!!

think that for some strange reason have singled out a short attack (does that mean it will be over soon?). Maybe when we originally drilled wells 10 and 11a we accidently drilled through some of their fellow aliens homes and they could not claim on their insurance because they failed to tell the insurance companies their homes were 3,500 metres underground. If this is true I reckon they must be livid! Wouldn't you be? So to take revenge thay have made millions of shares out of thin air and sold them in the market thus damaging Ascents share price. Don't blame them.

The deal is ok I think. All fully funded for ages now. No placings wrecking the sp in an instant likely here. Clearly some shareholders don't like the deal but I suspect they got as good a deal as they could and the alternatives were far, far worse. It's easy to say "the deal is not good enough" when you have little or no idea what the alternatives were. Do nothing?? Then the sp would do nothing, even fall further. No. I think they got a reasinable deal and it was probably the best they could get.

NATO need to get their finger out and tell the member countries that to rely on energy from the main potential adversay to NATO is plain STUPID and they all need to plot a course away from relying on Russia PRONTO. The whole situation is frankly just about as daft as it gets. I bet Putin can't believe how greedy the likes of germany are making themselves totally reliant on Russian gas.

Countries not to depend on Russia for their energy supplies. It just shows how stupid the leaders of the NATO countries in Europe have been/are. I mean we have an argument with Russia and then they turn our gas off!! You could not make it up could you. Result........... no electricity, no gas, no industry no hope!! Slovenia get 90% of their gas from Russia, yet they re in NATO. FFS what planet are the leaders of Slovenia on?? AND we have a huge gas field we want to develop in Slovenia. What happens??????? They take for ever and a day to process permits because of lack of staff, or corruption in the Government.

Hello. Geoenergo only replied to the IPPC and well re-working permit queries last Thursday (are they like snails or what??) so it seems Ascent are going to wait for the permits to arrive (assuming they do).
I think it's quite simple.
I think Ascent have got an offer or offers of a jv conditional upon getting the permits to re-work the two wells.
If for some reason they don't get the permits the head count in Slovenia will be reduced be absolute minimum so well 10 and well 11a can build up the Companies finances as far as possible over time. Hopefully this willl be reported in the papers over there so the public know what is going on (lost jobs, no investment, no new jobs, totally reliant on Russian gas etc.). Then I can only assume Ascent will use that money to strart in another Country where permits are not subject to whatever the problems are (corruption or lack of staff seem the most likely reasons).
We are very close to game time IMHO.

Hello, This is actualy surprisingly good news. Hot summer and the gas prices are at similar levels to when we were in freezing conditions along with the rest of Europe. Must be 15% higher than expected.

Ascent replied to the Slovenian Governments queries about our 2 well re-working permits and our application for the IPPC permit (the one that has taken 4 years... so far), last Thursday. The balls are in their court now. Either they want the gas field developed creating Slovenian jobs, tax revenues and consumer gas that actually comes from Slovenia (as opposed to Gazprom) or they don't for some reason in which case the Slovenians employed by Ascent will find they have no jobs anymore. Then the Slovenian politicians will find their names in the Slovenian papers for all the wrong reasons as in destroying Slovenian jobs, actively preventing the development of the gas field which would have created more jobs, damaging the Slovenian economy, ,making the Country reliant on Russian gas etc.....
Makes my blood boil frankly.#
