IPPC permit. It's pretty obvious8 Aug 2018 13:47
that Ascent have been hammering away for some FIVE YEARS to get that permit. There was a non Government Organisation (one man) that because of their crazy system managed to delay it for the first FOUR YEARS. The re-application was made last November, some eight months ago. Ascent compalin of being asked questions they have already answered etc. Every time they reply a new set of queries arrive. Why are these queries not sent in one hit? Frankly it smacks of deliberate delay and this is why Ascent are annoyed. It may be that the person that originally objected has found un-official support from people inside "ARSO" and they are doing everything they can to delay the permit. I's sure it's easy for "ARSO" to say they are following the process. It seems the way they go about it, asking questions, then more questions, then more questions is perfect for delaying permits for as long as they want. All they say is "we are following the procedure". IMHO the people dealing with the application need to have a grilling by their upper management to find out the truth.Of course it may be the upper management that are the problem.
One thing is for sure no oil/gas co is going to invest in Slovenia the way it is.
The next thing that will happen is Ascent will sack all non-essential personel in Slovenia. Give it a few weeks.
Maybe thet will cause "ARSO" to behave in a professional manner. Maybe the people who get sacked will be knocking on "ARSO's" door asking why they are trying to destroy the gas field project and why they have destroyed their jobs.
If "ARSO" have any professionalism they will act before the Slovenian jobs are axed. It's a total disgrace.
All IMHO.
