I'm pretty astonished the oil price has not gone up11 Feb 2020 22:37
more. Basically as far as I can see China stopped most industrial production for is it two weeks more than it would have been anyway? They are slowly going back this week so maybe you should say 3 weeks longer than it would have been. So one presumes they will be trying to catch up? Ordering in raw materials like oil etc? The popuilation are not daft so one would think that they could be trusted to go back to work and avoid contact etc.. that might spread the virus? Maybe it will take a few weeks to get everything moving again but I can imagine in 4 weeks time all back to normal, apart from a nasty form of flu that, if you are extremely unlucky you actually catch, and then even more unlucky become one of the 2 in a hundred that actually die from it. Regarding money spent due to the virus it seems to me that a) finding a treatment that will reduce the death rate and b) creating a vaccine are both imperative and no expense should be spared at all in financing these. None at all. In fact new facilities and staff to do this would be a good idea, financed by the worlds governments.
All IMHO.
