A.Smithy.
"As of now out of the 8 million vaccinated virtually all of them are non travellers due to age and vulnerability - by the end of March there will still be no body travelling.".
- "No body travelling". People continue to travel as you know. Obviously from a very low start more and more people will be travelling, all be it older people to start with.
What about kids, they cannot be vaccinated, of the 25 million under 50's half are kids, the other half are the parents travelling with kids. No country will want kids travelling due to their ability to rapidly spread the virus.
- There is on-going research into childrens role on covid. It seems likely that adults that take kids will have to isolate for 5 days, then have a test, or isolate for 10 days.
Also dont forget those who have had the virus only have a level of immunity for upto 5 months, hence why those people are now getting re-infected.
- 5 months is not what I read. I read "at lasta year". It's likely everyone who wants to travel in future will have to have a yearly covid test. I think people who refuse to have it will not be allowed to travel which will no be popular!
The UK do not want any further variants entering our shores, for that reason alone the borders will remain firmly shut for the forseeable future. The UK have also ruled out so-called vaccine passports becoming a "thing".
- I don't know about passports but unless you have had 2 jabs you ain't going anywhere if you ask me. Dr Fauci in the USA has said the current vaccinations all work above the "cut off" level for all the current variations. He says the current vaccines can be tweaked if necessary. Sounds like this would take a few months , then testing might be an issue. Maybe as they will be similar testing won't be so long??#
Bottom line is things will imporive over the next few months . That is totally obvious.
All IMHO.
