I was thinking of investing but what seems to have come to light over the last few weeks has put me right off, for very obvious reasons. We will see if they "deliver the goods" but as far as the availbility of the vaccine goes the Government are saying "ask Astrazenica" and Astrazenica are saying "it's not our fault". However one tends to lean towards the Government on this one as AZN must have been fully aware what was expected, it was plastered all over the news 6 months ago. Presumably AZN know what is required to deliver millions of doses of a vaccine........ if they expected the UK Government to oversee and guide them then they must have been on another planet. If they don't deliver I don't see how they can duck the blame. We will see what happens. Remember every single day this is delayed costs real human lives. About 500 a day at the moment. AZN should have managed all the production right through to it being ready to inject. If they did not then they are at fault IMHO. Looking like a national scandal in the making if you ask me.

While India has hundreds of millions of doses of the Oxford vaccine ready to be injected AZN are poised to let the whole of the UK down by not providing anywhere remotely close to what was ordered or what was promised as far as I can gather. I really hope what I have gleaned off the internet & TV is wrong but it don't look good at all. Pascal Soriot had better deliver. There is no excuse. They have had several months to plan etc...

The key I think will be how many vaccine shots are delivered.
In the uk it's about 1m to date.
If the UK can do another 1m by next weekend, then move to 2m a week then the market is going to rise, quite substancially.
People are fairly well protected 10 days after the shot. If the most vulnerable 8m are sorted by 2nd week in Feb things will suddenly be looing a lot better. I'm a buyer waiting for an oppertunity..... assuming the rollout hits the figures.........

If you look at the follwoing Government statistics it shows hospital admissions up 20% in the last 7 days.
It also shows people testing positive up 47% in the last 7 days.
So, does it not follow that the hospital admissions will soon be going up 47%? Anyone over 35 who is taking risks with this must be incredibly dumb. At this rate if you get ill you won't be able to get any treatment.

The UK Government, I hope, together with Astrazenica took on staff to work 24 hours a day. I hope they did. But did they?
My impression of AZN in this so far is not good at all.
There was some sort of mistake with the dosing at trial time that people are trying to sweep under the carpet.

Then it seemed to take months for the data, that apparently was ready, to be procedded by AZN.
Now we have doubts about the supply. The Government TODAY seems to be rowing back on the 2m by end of next week news. 6 months ago it was 30m! Then 4m! If you look at the news now 538,0000 "with millions more over the coming months". Which months are these I hear everyone cry. What's the betting this month is not one of them?? maybe February too?
I can only speal for myself but I am less than impressed with AZN and the UK Government regarding the AZN Oxford vaccine.

Extremely poor performance considering how many people have lost their lives.
We will see what happens in the next 3 weeks but I won't be at all surprised if there are vaccine supply probems.

the distinct impression I get is that what we have here is complete chaos.
I am less than impressed with AstraZenica. Took months to get the test data to the regulator............... MONTHS whilst 50 to 700 people per day have been dying. No rush...........
Then we have the Government months ago saying they had pre-ordeed 30m doses. This went down to 4m (reason being..... who knows??). So we were expecting a minimum of 4m on the shelf ready to to go and we are told 538,000.
I know one thing. The CEO, Pascal Soriot will be sacked if his 2m by the end of next week is untrue. I wonder if he is clearing his desk today?

is it even possible, bearing in mind this crisis started 9 months ago, that the UK Government, Astrazenica and the others involved did not forsee a tad of a problem arising when BILLIONS of people want the vaccines now some are approved. I refer to the news that there are likely to be shortages of the vaccines delaying people actually getting the jab. Words fail me.

as of course COVID 19 is still wreaking havok throughout the World. I am also amazed PMO's share price is only 20p. previously when Brent has been over $50 I'm sure PMO's sp was 25 to 30p?? Looking at the chart Brent was last over $50 back in Feb 2020 PMO's sp was.............. OVER £1.00, MUCH TO MY SURPRISE WHEN I CHECKED JUST NOW. Unless I'm missing something major here 20p is cheap, and the sp should be more like 25-30p. Opinions welcome.

Hedging is key as we have all learned. If PMO had hedged a bit more the merger would not be happening I think goes without saying. Maybe Brent has not been over $50 long enough to enable hedging at say $50 but I have a feeling there would be a lot of takers if some Hedge fund offers. If Premier can hedge say the next 6 months production @ even $48 one would have thought they would go for it?

The vaccines should start to reduce the danger from the virus in the next few months.
I believe it's several million before we get most of the most vulnerable protected.
Between 8th and 20th Decemver just over 600,000 first doses were administered.
600,000 divided by 13 days = 46,000 per day. Half that to account for the 2 doses = 23,000 per day.
Assume 6,000,000 need inoculating to have an effect.
6,000,000 / 23,000 = 260 days, or 37 weeks, or 9 months!
Clearly the numbers being done are going to increase a lot as "by spring" is what the experts say.

We need the AstraZenica vaccine approved about 2 months ago. Poeple really need to be careful. The NHS IMHO in Wales and S/E England is likely to get overwhelmed in the next 3 weeks. REALLY. JUST LOOK AT THE FIGURES.
