Crazy if you ask me. Brent may have dropped to $75.30 but is that cheap?? I thought $40 or below = bad, $45 = most Co's breaking even (apart from shale), $50 shale even and others making some, $55 everyone should be making a profit, $60 everyone making a good profit, $65 everyone making a big profit, $70 everyone makng a HUGE profit, $75 dancing for joy in the board room, $80 delerious with glee, can hardly talk, $85 need medication to avoid heart failure, $90 and above take medication daily.

One would have thought any buyer would wait until proof of a discovery.
I think 50p a share buyout with no proven oil or gas is as likely as winning the lottery without buying a ticket.
Thre are about 13,146,000,000 shares in issue.
At 2.4p- this gives a market cap of £315m pounds.
At 50p it would be £6,573,000,000. (six and a half billion pounds).

So some in the market think the board are going to roger the dividend and trash the share price whilst transitioning to greener energy. How utterly daft is that! Maybe the market should have more faith in the board.

So with Brent even medium term looking like it's going to be $65 to $85 I wonder if Rockhopper's Sea Lion oil discovery will finally be exploited? HBR said they are having a look in the last RNS. This would bring back interest in the other oil Co's that have rights to drill off the Falklands, like Argos Resources (ARG) and Borders & Southern (BOR). Let's face it there is a huge oil discovery sitting there to be had.

for several weeks. Sounds like the market expect Saudi and UAE to compromise, but not for some weeks. Brent has been over $60 since 10th Feb I think. Nearly 5 months of very profitable oil prices. All oil Companies should be RAKING IT IN. £6 a share here in due course I think.

It seems to me Cairn's offer to invest the money in India was extremely generous considering the appauling way the Indian Government bahaved selling off Cairn's Indian operations etc..
Apparently the Indian Government refused this offer months ago, in my opinion an extremely bad decision. They could have had good press in India. They could have said that the the oppositions illegal law meants they had to pay the bill, but they have managed to negotiate all the money being re-invested in India. Well done and all that. But NO they said no. Foolish IMHO. Blackrock are a major investor in Cairn and they are massive. There are various other well known major investors in cairn. The Indian Government seem to be making one bad decision after another on this one IMHO.

seems completely mad. Investors selling out of BP with the oil price as it is and the dividend to me need their heads examined.
How on Earth could a major investment Company justify selling BP shares with Brent @ $76 (trending up) and the good dividend. They should be buying, not selling IMHO. Before covid BP shares were around £5.00. My gut feeling is they should already be back to £4.00, yet they are only £3.22.

at the falklands oil potential do not write off Argos. They have the rights to drill in the PL001 license area off the coat of the Falklands. JP Morgan Asset Management (UK) Ltd hold 4.63% of the shares.

OK it's very high risk but if harbour decide to go ahead developing the massive "sea Lion" discovery with Rockhopper Plc then the shares will IMHO rocket North of 10p a share (currently 3p ask).
