one hand it shows confidence in the future. On the other it reduced the cash cushion they had if business deteriorates again due to covid, or whatever. Hopefully the booking figures they have been getting have led them to decide purchsing the debt early is the cheapest way forward.
The RNS was yesterday so travel Co's had a bad day today and this added a bit to sp slide that would have happened anyway I think. Maybe they will advise how the new bookings are going soon. My opinion is they should have no problem at all. I have a feeling there will be a good news RNS soon.

I see 2 ways this could go.
UAE do some sort of compromise with Saudis. Brent same ish, BP re-visits £3.30.
UAE go nuclear and leave OPEC. Very unlikely. OIl price goes sum $65, BP sp goes sub $2.80.
If nothing else we still have the dividend!!!

to agree any oil supply increase with Brent at $74.80c, just about where they want the price to be..............................................

from OPEC (not suggesting they manufacture cement these days, although the shortage must make that quite profitable) I don't think the oil price is going anywhere fast. More likely creep up IMHO. No news from OPEC could go on weeks.

I see your point regarding the Bollinger bands. Hit lower level so hopfully we are going up to £3.30 ish from here. With Brent @ $75.80 we certainly should do!!

It's likely Saudi and UAE won't say much for several days until one or other picks up the phone IMHO. They need time to cool off. If they say nohing, which seems likely, the oil price is only going one way IMHO - up. If UAE agree (unlikely) with rst of OPEC then oil goes ........ up as the deal is not enough oil to cover the consumption from what I have read.
If UAE leave OPEC then the oilprice will dive some.
It's going $80 before Saudi/UAE do a deal and even then it aint going down much if any IMHO.

The most likely scenarios all lead to $75 to $85 Brent crude from what I have read. Shale won't come on line in big enough amounts to have an effect for months IMHO.

on board methinks. Especially BP share price. At the same £3.16 that it seems to be magnetised to. Surley this should be £4.00 minimum?? How long does the market ignore Brent $75, or $75 plus PER BARREL?
BP wants to move to greener energy, great. That does not mean the board are going to throw vast amounts of cash down the pan, ruin the sp and loose the dividend. Market player madness from where I'm sitting is what is holding the sp back, for now. Oh Ye of little faith etc...

scenario where the oil price drops a lot is if UAE leave OPEC or some other very major bust up. Apparently extremely unlikely as the current deal does not expire until April 2022.

Chill. HFD have just re-instated the dividend so one would think they are doing quite well............ This 5.8% drop is therefor not a concern.

it's still $74.70. Yes seventy four dollars and 70 cents ber barrel. Seems to me what......... $10 per barrel more than the $65 that just about all oil Co's would be very, very happy with. Unless something else is going on I tbhink BP's share price is crazy.
