I'm afraid Shell, BP. and allthe other big Oil Companies that have sunk billions onto Russia are liable to be regretting it. I for one thought BP was making a massive mistake when it went in with Rosneft all those tears ago.

I don't think that will hapen. But maybe Putin wil limit the gas which would make the sp go through the roof. Or if it's easier contractually, limit the oil. Either way it would have a major major impact.

as we all know BP have huge investemnts in Russia. Shell in same position I thing. Most people would put their money into oil/gas shares that do not have any interests in Russia for very obvious reasons.

Only today, tomorrow and Friday left to get in for the special dividend.
Amazed the sp has barely moved in several days. A few weeks back it was over £13.50......... I should know I bought some!
Presumably although many will be getting in some are also getting out!
The last trading update was fantastic, continued normal dividend plus a special dividend. Clearly the Company is doing extremely well.

I appreciate HBR hedge a lot but hedging looking forward has got to be well over $70 for say 18 months time?? Same for gas. Also we presume one day the Tolmount gas field will actually come on line. Was penciled in for LAST JULY!!!!!!!!!!!
Gas in UK is 202p a therm and Brent crude $96.38.
I fancy the sp here will simply have to be over £4.50 within a few months.
Also no interests in Russia as far as I am aware.

IMHO get OUT of any shares that are not oil/gas, BUT make sure the Co's you stay with oil/gas don't have assets in Russia. Pretty obvious?

But eventually, with Brent crude @ $96.24 and gas @ 193p a therm and the fact that Co's like HBR WILL be hedging oil and gas far higher than 6 months ago the market will catch up.

IMHO Brent will cruise past $100 easily. Assuming Russian boots end up on the ground in Ukraine IMHO $150 a barrel and more is possible. BP/Shell etc.. will regret their "investments" in Russia. They were warned.

violent when it comes to others taking their land. Probably because we are decended from monkeys that needed to defend their land due to it containing their food/water. The invading troops are not motivated in this way. Taking on Ukraine's army with it's 200,000 troops won'y be a walk in the park and I suspect Putin will regret it both economically and in Russian lives lost. Not beyond possibility that a Ukraine fighter gets through and attacks the Kremlin IMHO. This is no Chechnya. Ukraine have a modern army. Russian people beware!!!

"Markets hate uncertainty". This situation is outside of the box. The price of oil and gas is going to go through the roof as they say, and Co's that sell same's sp are going to go likewise.
