RE: So what's he problem?26 Jul 2022 15:32
The whole travel industry is on the ebb, or just over it IMHO.
There is an overhang of worry about whether Co's will raise money.
CCL raised $1 billion the other day, knocking iver 10% off their share price.
Not good, but at least there is now plenty of cach in the bank (they raised another $1 billion just a few weeks ago). The last one was underwritten by Golman Sachs so presumably they have got their sums right.
As far as airlines go this lack of ground staff business is shocking. Having said that getting more ground work staff is just a matter of time. The oil price is the other problem of course but it's a matter of passing the costs on. I understand that BA do hedge so there should be some sort of buffer regarding the fueld costs. How much no doubt we will find out on Friday with the results.
I feel the sp is simply just unrealistically low. On the way down it paused at around £1.45 if memory serves. It also went fro £1.45 ish to £1.70 ish in a matter of weeks at one point only to go down again.
I'm hoping after the result it will go up to at least the £1.45 level before carrying on to the £1.70.
The bottom line IMHO is we are at or very close to the sp low, possibly for years to come.
All IMHO.
