Aquae,
Who knows, perhaps SOH was setting me up for a shock, surprise with a SweetBiotix in a can on the shelves in a store near us all very soon. I am relaying what he said in a conversation, which went something like... I was expressing my concerns the company was being set up to disappoint investors if no SweetBiotix news arrived before Christmas. I have seen this before. By easter by Christmas, then easter and Christmas again? We still wait three years hence! I stress this was not SOH's timeline and not mine!
There was talk of at "least one deal (SweetBiotix) by Christmas 2021, possibly two. Again, I stress this was not SOH but an influential investor that has SOH ear from time to time. I am not suggesting the investors were pumping, stretching the truth, or had inside info. I know SOH does not pass off inside info. He never did with me, so I have no reason to suggest otherwise. On the timeline, SOH "said it would likely be another twelve + months before a consumer product was available. Citing investors do not appreciate the complexities. It is not just about shelflife tests; there are logistics, temperature issues, etc." Like you, I assumed this was all part of the testing process.
OPTI is another six months on, and no sign of SweetBiotix. Big corps have their timeline and order of business, and small caps, like OPTI and SBTX, etc., have to two the line and be patient.
As for Microbiome Modulators - huge, significant potential for sure; however, I know I have been talking about this for about three years. We learn new innovative science that takes time to adopt. We have seen this with LP-LDL, SlimBiome, and SweetBiotix. I doubt Microbiome Modulators will be any different.
Ref SBTX funding. It would be foolish to claim it will never be a requirement. All we know is that the SBTX board is frugal with funds. Logic suggests that even if there were a raise of £3m, it would hardly be a significant dilution in the grand scheme. IMHO, if there were to be one, it would almost certainly be to fast-track in-house brands to market - say shampoos, cosmetics, etc. If SBTX had an agreement with retail for stock, any sane investor would scream raise - then ask how many new shares they can have?
I could be wrong. But I suspect the oral care partnership (assuming it develops) may be one of those deals that brokers an upfront and or milestone payment. AxisBiotix sales are increasing, as are retention rates, and Croda royalties from a range of VIPs, and possible a wide range of cosmetics for antiaging and likely other skincare products if the enhanced formula proves exciting on full scaleup.
