Gold over 1400 GBP, 1600 euros and 1730 dollars.
With gold at this price CEY are arguably still significantly undervalued.
Market confidence in the company given 2 years of failed promises is likely to have resulted in a discount. The great Q1 results, significantly ahead of plan, should have a double benefit. They are good news in themselves but also because they will help the return of confidence.
In addition we have the additional tailwind from going ex-divident next week.
Would be good stay strong until then and quickly recover from the inevitable ex-dividend day drop.

That makes me smile - I do exactly he same thing (although not today). I sell thinking the rise is too good to carry on and then get cold fee that I will miss out and buy back in for just a few pennies less. So far your call to get back in looks good. You may have only got 79 extra share but think what that will be worth if we go up this much in % terms every day for a year (I wish)!

Have these share in lots of buckets: my children's junior ISAs, my wife's ISA, my SIPP and my ISA. All were positive except my ISA. Even that has just turned positive albeit by 0.14%.
I know that in reality there is also the dividends as well as the ones I have previously sold and made a good profit on however it it still very satisfying to see all the accounts blue.

Great to see you posting too. It certainly is good to see the share in the 150s again and it really does help the smile. A few years ago I sold some at 193p (the high and thought I was so clever) and then bought even more back at 185 and 175 as at both points I thought it had bottomed. It really is a share that gives you a wild ride so could easily go into the 200s from here although if gold fell back and bad news came out then it could sub 100. On balance I think the former is more likely at the moment so am still, like Sotolo, far too concentrated in this share.

Hi Dasut,
I was doing emails at the same time so did not follow the call in full. As Sotolo says you can listen to it on replay (plus you will understand lots of the tech stuff that I don't) but from what I heard they did talk about exploration, including the possibility of it slowing down due to COVID, but no specifics on new resource opening up.
They seem to be now be planning to do more work on the underground part of the mine, Mund being pretty much taken out of production, that I thought had previously been signposted. I wonder whether this is them taking advantage of being ahead of plan so far this year and therefore lining themselves up for a strong 2021.
Martin came across well on the little bit of talking he did do.
I will be interested in your insights and thoughts once you have listened to it.

Market seems to be responding well to the call. Gold hovering around 1670 and share price back up to 141.

My guess would be it depends on how fast the market fall. If it is a slow and orderly fall then gold should be OK. If plummets again then all sorts of stop losses will get triggered and all sorts of margin calls will be made. This then means people are seeking to raise cash wherever they can. In a crisis you sell what you can not what you want and that would most likely include gold.

It could just be the same reason as why many people divulge secrets. To show how they have the inside track.

Yikes Sotolo, putting an overdraft into shares is very dangerous (as I am sure you know). Depends of course whether it is just cash flow or not. Fingers crossed we get a good rise and it pays off. You will need it if you get lawyers involved for your dispute with the farmer!

Talking of 'Strange Days Indeed' (well I was even if no one else was) - if you go to the commodities page on HL website you will see another one of the those 'strange' indicators. WTI Crude Oil is showing up 228400% as I think they had marked it at $0.01 yesterday at close. Looks like a country in hyperinflation!

I agree it should have a positive impact. We will now be going ex-dividend in 10 days time and the money should be in our bank account from the dividend within the month.

'Q2 2020 is scheduled to be a lower production quarter, producing approximately 115,000 ounces of gold, reflecting a reduction in underground output'
So this means they are forecasting H1 at 240k. With the now announced 45/55 split that would give a full year of 533k which is towards the top of the guidance of 510-540k.
It will be interesting to see in Q2 whether it is the lower production quarter they forecast or this is just a return to CEY caution (no complaints if we are back to under promise and over deliver provided they don't go too far).

You remind me of those cartoons which depicted wealth by having the person with the very large house and pool fill it with oil (or sometimes champagne) and swim in that.
We are seeing more and more 'weird' things happen which, just as with the climate, suggests something is up.
Seeing the collapse of communism first hand in Russia must have been fascinating. Not sure I would have been brave enough to carry that much cash around - I suspect a fair few people would have happily bumped you off for $4,000. Mind you the amount of roubles that made up $4000 at the time would have been significant so you must have been pretty well built just to carry them so I guess people weren't too tempted to pick a fight with you.

Oil prices turned negative for the first time ever falling to minus $37.63 per barrel.
