Thanks Razors. I agree that it would be surprising if CEY did not walk away with one of the prizes given their track record and one presumes network. I remain very confident in CEY's future and still feel that overall the SP is overvalued. I was just seeking capitalise on what looked like an over rapid rise in the ST. Let us hope for a favourable announcement ref licensing shortly and then an above expectation Q3 which I am, perhaps over optimistically, expecting.

Thanks all. Yes it would be £6.5k at 10p but I think it was closer to 9.5p. One of those times it works out. There have been plenty when it didn't.

Bought back the 65k shares sold earlier in the week at a mixture of just below and just above 210. Today's sell off seems overdone to me for not a lot of movement in gold.

So to paraphrase:
'Its all a bit of a basket case and interest rates are going nowhere for quite some time'.
Sounds pretty good for gold to me.
What do others think?

Love your phrase in your post over on ADVFN: 'The share price is itching to rise...'

Key question is was I stupid or was I wise in dumping 65,000 shares yesterday. I agree with you that there seems to be momentum behind the SP but I have kicked myself many, many times before for not taking some of my over-large holding off the table to benefit from a good rise to then enable me to buy back on the dip.

Sold 65k shares yesterday in CEY. No loss of faith in the story just feeling share price (got out just below 220) has risen rather well relative to gold this week. Am presuming that the dividend being reinvested is playing a part. Will reinvest on any pull back in SP.

Morning Sotolo, I despair whenever dividend payment time comes around and we hear of the delay in payment. How can a bank keep a straight face when it uses as an explanation for a week long delay in paying the share holder their money, that it takes them that long to process/ clear/ convert the currency? This is the 21st century and all of that is their job. If this was the other way round, and a delay was not to their advantage, I can't help think it would be close to instantaneous.

Looking at the 'Directors Deals' on this site it appears that Josef has over 10.7million Centamin shares. Happy to be corrected if anyone sees it differently.

Is there confusion. Youssef El-Raghy is the General Manager whereas Josef is the founder and ex-Chairman. Is it not he who has the mountain of shares?

Your thinking mirrors mine ref the opportunity cost of cash. I have been caught out a few times by going nearly all cash when I thought the markets were toppy only to see them continue to climb while my cash was of course static. Having said that there is wisdom in Tiger's approach and not being too greedy so I do have c20% in cash at present.
I am pleased to see gold close the week above 1975 and close to a record high; ditto pleased to see Cey close in the 200s. I have great hopes for Tuesday's interims and a good dividend being announced and expect a strong market reaction. Given I expect gold to move into the 2000s sometime in Aug, the two factors could be enough to drive CEY up to the 250 you mentioned. Like you I expect that and am starting to dare to think of 300 as being reasonable. I would love that to be by year end but pretty much everything would have to go in our favour for that to happen.

I'm not particularly a chartist but there was a gap created yesterday in the 200-204 range so no doubt a chartist would tell us that it is good news that this is being filled.

Looks like it was an exciting night. I was sleeping so missed out on the excitement live but when I looked at the overnight graph this morning it was a bit like seeing the pile of bottles left in the aftermath of a party. Gold is now back to $1940 but I can't help feeling it will revisit the night's high of $1980 later.
Fingers crossed for another strong day for both gold and Centamin.

I agree and all too often one holds just to see a healthy profit disappear.
