It's noticeable that despite the disappointing fall in value of COP the major shareholders, other than Libya Oil which is unable to sell, have not sold or even reduced their holdings since March. That equates to 43% of the total share issue. I think that we have hit the bottom and next week we may start to see a decent rise. The last few days have been more positive and when have we witnessed any large sells lately ? I expect Good news from Morocco and Farm Out news before year end. I also still maintain that the farm out process may result in takeover speculation. Have a good weekend all

Well Stockbuyer I think that they will buy shares because the price is 4 or 5 times less than the true value of the company and each director will therefore make money. Simples !

They are still in a closed period with an RNS due on Morocco. No excuses afterwards

Good report by Mark Robinson. Remains a buy stating that true value five times higher than current price

1 mill bought. 500k sold. 450k could be either but look like buys to me. Now let's see some director buys

Sorry Stockdale. I have just topped up another 100k at these crazy prices to get my average down a bit further but still way down and wouldnt dream of selling. This is going to return to 10p before year end despite Stockbuyers negative posts.

If by people you mean me, just black coffee. Chill. Before the sells there were some larger buys and why not at this price. Cant understand why anyone would sell at this price

This is where the speculators come in. Lots of big buys this morning. Hopefully it is down to the medium to long term potential of COP and not a quick profit. I agree with Delano and am convinced that there will be an attempt at a take out COP whilst prices are depressed. As I have said before and in my humble opinion, the Tunisia farm out process will attract the buyer.

A conservative estimate of 70 million barrels of oil in benign Mediterranean waters. Even at sub 50 dollars that's a lot of oil whatever the farm out terms. Some majors would be interested in that. I still think with COP at a value of only £26 mill anyone wanting Tunisia will buy the company in total

Big drop in rating price fro 33 to 26 but still a buy. I know its the house broker so not too excited. Interesting to see what some of the others do.

Still reading the small print Stockdale. I agree, seem pretty much as good as could be expected. Continued cost reductions and farm out of Tunisia. It would be good to now see some upto date broker comment and some director share buys. Did you notice the reference to outstanding legal cases, previously discussed on this board ? As I stated at the time, a none event !

Accepted Stockdale. This price leaves them exposed to a cheap takeover

I spoke to Investec (House Brokers) at the begining of the month and they told me that interims due to be released by month end. Are we betting Monday morning or to the last day ?

ITS all guesswork Stockdale. No one knows what the next drill result will be. TFM is a major deramper so his perception suits. What we do know however is that "costs in Morocco are now much lower since the Country Manager was changed and COP have increased reserves on tap and are actively pursuing additional sales contracts at terms that suit them" this quote from Susan Prior e. mail to me of the 7th August. We also know that COP are in the process of Farm Out negotiations re Tunisia. So much news to come before the end of the year and hopefully decent interims later this month

I have read the post and it seems quite positive mostly confirming what we know. The cash position is roughly where I thought we would be now. The reference to the £28m value of COP at a discount to the asset valuations and his high opinion of the Management in place, speaks volumes

Well Stockdale the MMs are giving nothing away here and have today overseen a fall in price after 1.9million shares were bought against only 100k sold ?

Same pattern but no change in the large share holder register which is the same as at March Someone has spent serious money again here and at some stage this has to positively affect this share price. I still believe that there is some stake building here
