I'm not sure how relevant it is but it does discuss the GRS and IOCG potential in the KSZ. I'm not sure where the shallow holes were but I thought it interesting. 25 years is a mere blink of an eye in geological terms ;-).

I haven't watched the complete video yet. The following is taken from the Fancamp chat forum. I'm not sure exactly where in the KSZ they were drilling
'The company has received the results of the initial percussion drill
program on two magnetic targets associated with the Kalahari suture zone in
western Botswana. The targets are on the Fancamp/Freewest southern block. A
large complex magnetic anomaly, 7km long and up to 3km wide, is associated
with major north-south and northwest trending faults and is in the eastern
sector of the southern block. Five holes totalling 700 metres intersected
magnetite-hematite-chlorite alteration associated with hydrothermal
breccias at shallow depths (20 to 50 metres below surface). Although no
anomalous base or precious metal values were returned from these holes,
management is extremely encouraged at intersecting indications of extensive
hydrothermal activity on the KSZ, in this initial exploration phase. The
association of magnetite-hematite-chlorite alteration with hydrothermal
breccias is typical of large copper/gold deposits.
A large magnetic-gravity target in the western sector of the southern block
was also drilled. The hole was completed to 347 metres but was abandoned
short of its target because of heavy groundwater inflow.
Ground geophysical surveys over both the target areas drilled on the
southern block and on targets in the central and northern blocks are under
way in preparation for further drilling.
Geophysical modeling of magnetic and gravity data over the red spot target
has indicated a magnetic source at 600m depth with a coincident gravity
anomaly. Recent radarsat images have indicated a remarkably similar surface
expression of the magnetic anomaly. There appears to be a ring fracture
associated with the margin of the magnetic anomaly which is reflected on
the radarsat image. The company is currently prospecting the red spot for
indications of potential leakage anomalies associated with the ring
fracture (copper-gold-uranium, etc) prior to drilling. Both magnetic and
radarsat data indicate that the red spot is controlled by major faults and
is itself structurally complex.'

Rio were the operator so they probably would have had some ongoing costs even if they delayed stage one exploration. My comment about not saving money by terminating the deal at this point is probably not completely correct

I had seen the announcement. The implication is that they didn't think there were big enough deposits present but I suspect there is more to it than that. Rio had 4 years to complete stage 1 so unless the cash payment of $1m was due they don't appear to be saving themselves any money. They have applications in within the last week for other licences in Zambia. It may be a combination of potential on the licences plus an intention of the Zambian gov to limit licences issued to any one company that has prompted them to terminate the deal.

This mentions the satellite deposits but it is unclear if Empress will benefit.

I noticed the same but didn't come to any real conclusion. I haven't checked if any licences have been issued since the start of the audit. The following suggests issuing of licences was still suspended at the start of this month

It may be that ARC thought there was no point putting in more applications while the process was suspended. It also could be that they are waiting for a policy update which may mean that they don't need to jump through hoops to avoid relinquishing a portion of the licence.

In addition in this article Tipps is quoted as saying
'We want to convert our targets to drill ready status'.
I think that this statement would make sense if we were then going to hand over to Mindea to drill.

I wonder if Equity drillimg could be the smaller partner. Vital commodities owned by Equity drilling were the owners of some tenements that POW took an option on last year. BT did talk about getting historic exploration refunded. We haven't yet seen the issue of shares to Mindea.

Sounds good Egg. I have looked at the Boda presentation from the 11th May (as suggested in the last RNS).Boda has a copper gold zone and a gold only zone. The gold only zone is in the phyllic alteration (words which mean very little to me) and I wondered if this is what was being alluded to in the latest RNS.

Those filters giving you issues again?? Apparently he filters me but has people sending him DMs to tell him what I'm saying - he does make me laugh :-). I'm guessing any changes to mining policy could have consequences for anyone exploring/mining in Zambia. Happy to be educated otherwise.

Warrants don't all expire mid June ( a large quantity do), however I can't see that AA will have any interest in warrants, apart from giving an overall view of enlarged share capital.

I agree that the interview was less upbeat than usual but the RNS told us we have a 750m strike at Ascot and six more holes drilled awaiting assays.
