Also the arbitration issue I don’t see as a big deal. $15m in the grand scheme of things is loose change. It’s just Hainan showing to exert power over kodal.

Hi Merc hope you’re well mate. So my view is we need another few months of continued shipping to prove logistics etc work. We need to see the actual AISC. I imagine it’s risen from $647pt but by how much.

It’s clear Hainan are going nowhere. They need the spod after invested heavily in their processing plant.

Stage 2 FID for me is the big re rate as that’s a load bigger than stage 1 which is the starter. I’m after main course and dessert! That probably won’t happen until later this year. Also resource upgrade being JORC verified should help.

Mali stability would also help but it’s always been unstable. Granted at the moment it’s probably the most challenging they’ve had it. But loads of other miners in the same boat. As long as it doesn’t affect logistics of Hainan receiving the spod I am not overly concerned.

Lithium price over $2k is key for profitability. I feel it will hold and may rise to closer to $3k where profits are strong.

Hainan may decide to swoop for a buyout at some point too. They have total control now but in the future would have to split profits. When the SP is this low who knows, they are v well backed by Fosun.

Today Reuters report : Chinese miners are more bullish, in some ​cases picking up assets after other operators ​decided to reduce their exposure. Canadian-listed Allied sold its Malian operations to China’s Zijin last year.

A ‌source at Zijin said the company had professional armed security, while a senior official at Ganfeng Lithium , which owns 65% of Mali’s Goulamina lithium project, said the mine was well away from affected areas and that the company was well prepared for any eventualities.

I imagine security will be beefed up accordingly. But profit is great at the current spod price.

This should help boost lithium price / keep it high.

It’s so hard to forecast tbh. But remember this won’t only affect kodal. Goulamina via Ganfeng is right next door, as well as others like Barrick. I imagine all miners will step up security accordingly. The good news is kod can still transport to San Pedro. Just got to hope fuel supply is ok during this period. Mining is massive business for Mali especially now they get 35 per cent so will want to ensure disruption is minimised. But I’m also expecting a sell off over the short term.

Yep Sam it may well be some people sell off as a result but it’s not changed my view of the stock. Always been high risk high reward style. Mali has always been on the risky side. Our current market cap I don’t think reflects where we are currently in the journey as a producer with relatively low AISC as far as we are aware to date.

Folks this is not new news as such. There’s always been fighting predominantly in the north. Bamako is closer to Bougouni but still 2hr 30 drive away. Fundamentals still decent with profits being made on each shipment. Can imagine this fighting will continue. Security decent around the plant. Chinese won’t less this incident mess with logistics. But imagine negative impact short term on the SP. We will see. I’m still viewing as a hold.
