I disagree, Chinese companies often want full control. Look at Atlantic, solg, zijin. They won’t want to give up profits down the line. If they believe lithium price will go up or stay at this level and they have the funds available it makes sense to pounce now or else they’ll need to stump up much more down the line….and logistics have been proven a number of times now.

Who knows arbitration could be used as leverage if Hainan did want to buyout. They have total control so there is no immediate urgency. But I have zero doubt they will want to get to 100 percent of KMUK so they can have 100 per cent of the profits long term. The more we go through the journey, the more profits need to be distributed and with lithium price high, who knows. They could easily afford to say to kodal look here is £150-£200m and we want 100 per cent of KMUK. They already have confidence in the resource upgrade.

And anyway you analyse the current share price on any metric you want, it is clearly undervalued. Show me a story using numbers that shows it is not.

What is say if those NPVs are accurate (can’t find them anywhere), the high risk producers are often valued at 0.5-0.7x NPV on average. We can’t compare like for like as ALL isn’t a producer so huge risk getting the plant up and running. Based on worst case 0.5x NPV, market cap should be around £213m so yes kodal is undervalued.

FYI Atlantic has just received a v low ball bid by a Chinese company. Not to say they will take it but clearly there is interest at these elevated lithium prices.
