I *think* that the panel has to be appointed within 2 months of the notice of arbitration being issued. Is this correct please?

If so, by the end of September what will be known about the panel/process please? My thoughts are we should know who is on the panel and where arbitration will be held. Anything else? E.g. a preliminary date for first hearings?

It feels like it would also be an opportune time to announce the quantum of the claim, but I'm expecting that towards the end of the year.

Next RNS is due next week for Bido.

I doubt it's the claim value given the year-end timeline given by Mark for this. However, you never know - maybe submitting the NoA has focused minds.

Yes, this remains a long-term play but I must admit to being more than a bit disappointed by the share price action in response to the notice of arbitration being issued. Trading at around 2/3 of the share price recorded when arbitration funding was announced, but being much further down the track on the case is pretty baffling.

Assuming a $1bn claim, if the market priced PAT at 5% of this claim value that's approx. 4x PAT's current MCap.

The firing pistol has signalled the start of the re-rate, and not before time!

Exciting times ahead for both long term and new shareholders in PAT.

My guess is somewhere between $1bn and $16.7bn

RE: Shear's point about Michael Higgins, I hope he'd see the bigger picture and let go of Bhukia. If Panthera get awarded a multi-million/billion dollar payout they can go mining pretty much anywhere, although I'd hope they'd choose a more reliable jurisdiction next time...

Reflecting on the delayed company presentation, which was expected over a month ago. Apologies if it's a bit of a ramble.

We've had an RNS on Kalaka and another on Bido this past fortnight, and the NoA for Bhukia is apparently ready to be issued. All quiet on Cascades (Labola) currently, but otherwise the company has been busy with value-adding activities. Unfortunately, unless you 'know' about Panthera, the value proposition for all assets and their progress requires some hefty research, hence why the updated presentation would be welcomed.

However, I think the only reason the presentation is being held back is Bhukia. I don't think the company wants to set its stall out on this right now because it could either place itself at a disadvantage at the negotiating table or during arbitration. It's hugely frustrating that we don't know which of these (or both) it is, and also the timescales for finding out.

I also think that this is the reason the notice of arbitration hasn't been issued.

A quick "we are currently in talks with the Government of Rajasthan" or "we are awaiting the finalisation of our claim amount/[insert reason for not releasing NoA] before issuing the notice of arbitration, which will take place in Q4" would be appreciated.

Now the additional shares are in issue I see it as game on.

Legally, perhaps so. Politically, and whether that would affect the likelihood of success on the case may be another matter - I don't know.

I do however share your frustration at a lack of published progress on Bhukia, and the fact the updated shareholder presentation is still outstanding.

Mark Bolton, LCM and Faskens have all been successful at this previously. If the Notice of Arbitration is ready to go as Mark says, hence there are no legal delays on the notice itself, then the only things holding it back to my mind are:

- negotiations are ongoing for settlement

- we are demonstrably exhausting all avenues for amicable settlement prior to issue

Given how high the stakes are, better to act with certainty than impatience.

The GoR has seen the light, acknowledged the errors in its ways and is trying to nullify the auction to give the licence to PAT.

In other news, I just saw Elvis flying past on a unicorn.

I doubt we'll hear anything before those share are admitted to market.

If there isn't any meaningful dialogue ongoing about settlement, tomorrow marks 6 months since the Notice of Dispute was issued...

Only Mark and his legal team will be able to assess whether e.g. 15% of asset value now is worth 3 years of legal wranglings and potentially the further hassle (and cost) associated with debt recovery if the other side does not paying up, i.e. is the bird in the had worth 2 in the bush?

I've been impressed with MB, and everything that he has done thus far has been with shareholders firmly in mind. Any settlement has to be agreeable to both parties, and I don't think Mark will accept a deal that isn't in PAT's interests. If GoR try to low-ball us, Mark will just take the more arduous route.
