..Not that it matters just interested to see that you built up additional state pension before 2016 and you get a enhanced state pension you get 8.5% rise on the basic state pension the extra amount you receive was only increased by 6.7% for some reason....i have no idea how its all worked out and cant be bothered to find out lol....however i will be paying income tax on my state pension from april..gla

No one on here thinks the 5kuk isa is going to move the market ffs...it is what it is... a lot lower than I hoped for 20k...however most people will increase their isa investment to 25k come April.. can't really see what all the fuss is about ..ps would really of liked to have seen share stamp duty abolished...gla
I disagree fleccy..obviously from my previous posts I was hoping for a uk isa allowance of an extra 20k on top of the standard allowance...but 5k is a start and many people will use it..cannot initially see it affecting the market verymuch though imo
Great thread a v good read ...thanks all ....gla

"We at the Centre for Policy Studies think tank thought it was rather odd that no one had repeated the exercise. So we decided to do so. When Oxera re-ran the numbers, at our request, they found that abolishing stamp duty on shares would be expected to generate a one-off increase of four per cent in UK equity valuations, amounting to a £99.8bn capital gain. In the long run, there could be a permanent increase in GDP of between 0.2 per cent and 0.7 per cent, alongside an increase in annual business investment by FTSE All Share index companies of up to £6.8bn. It would also increase the size of a representative DC pension fund by the equivalent of £6,051 – more, if it was heavily weighted towards equities."
As a financial centre the UK is well in front of europe but falling further behind the US ......the city really needs a boost ....share tax should be abolished.....an incentive for retail investors via a uk inv isa with maybe a seperate 20k tax free allowance....UK pension funds should be "encouraged "to invest in uk shares.........really hoping that at least some of these issues are addressed in hunts upcoming budget......gla.
Tax cuts def incoming weds...pre budget news leaks that any tax cuts will be affordable and fiscally responsible ..preparing the ground imo.....intersting week gla...
...48p!...im feeling very encouraged by the certainty that a poster is convinced £5 is a foregone conclusion...gla

Farage has stood for election to the house of commons 7 times but has not won any of those elections ....and Galloway has now been an elected mp 7 times i think (i could be wrong).....gla
