theo .. re crime....been to singapore several times over the years ...plenty of plain clothes police there ...indeed i think they still use public"caning" as part punishment ..cleanest place on earth (apart from some of their nightclubs and unusual karaoke clubs lol ).....gl

morning theo ....obviously i can see your not happy with the budget and in financial terms neither am i ....however there really was/is little wriggle room.....the market repercussions in what happened in sept/kwarteng cannot be underestimated in anyway...and to reverse that and stabilise the ship in 2 months is quite an achievement imo.....sometimes you have to accept the pandemic (unprecedented and hugely costy ) has to be accounted for ...ukraine and the extra 155 billion spent so far on energy (not sure about that figure) once again is a massive economic blow......all in all yes probably 1 step backwards to now go forward..... .gl & atb

theo re ..insolvencies...As of 31 March 2022, businesses have drawn 1,636,642 facilities, totalling £77.1 billion, through the:

Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS)
Coronavirus Large Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CLBILS)
Bounce Back Loan Scheme (BBLS)

The 3 schemes were established by the government in the first half of 2020 to support UK businesses impacted as a result of the pandemic.
77 BILLION was lent out in 3 various loan forms....i know of 2 small businesses who have declared insolvency now these loans have to be repaid......gl.

Theo...re insolvencies...I believe quite a number of companies particularly small were in a precarious state before covid and various government help loans,furlough etc helped them survive longer than was expected by their owners..gla.

The media etc determined to undermine any positive narrative...where/when have they mentioned the positive in the US and Asian markets this morning...if it was reverse they would be all over it..

Avia &legal and general up 15-17% in a month..lloyds up 5% in the same time period...

I wonder how much we will follow...or still be anchored by the 17th of November statement...looking good for dip buyers atm..gla..
