wondering whether +25bp will now be the call in feb......particularly in the uk.....gla

The focus for myself re lloyds is the 22nd of feb final year results ...how they use the profits div,special div,buybacks...plus debt provision etc....interest rate rises in UK feb and what %.....market wise plenty of uncertainty around ukraine,china,inflation etc..plus the UK political landscape in some turmoil atm re strikes etc... im not expecting any great sp rise until those issues start taking a positive turn......atm i would be more than happy with 53 -56p sp by the end of 2023....would add more on a sell off ....happy to be invested here ...gla.

mach ..not necessarily free money its all according how the special dividend affects the longer term share price and in turn the overall value of your holding....many share investors over the last 12-18 months including myself have moved solely into income based shares .... solid dividend payers...gl

....while i was away over christmas etc i spoke to a few lloyds investors in passing all aged between 60 -75 ish and like myself hold a reasonable amount of shares ...all of them would favour a special div mainly to help their income in the current climate because their drawdown pensions were down in the last year and they want to give said sipp/drawdown time to recover....for me personally ATM at the current SP level im happy for buybacks to continue.......is it possible for lloyds BG to do both ?....

The balancing act of the central banks is really crucial in 2023 ...cannot see 75bp increments happening again this year...gla

Will be looking at the US cpi data thurs with great interest re future rate rise pressure in the states......2023 looks like another roller coaster ukraine,inflation china etc etc.....looking ok ATM for fellow 2022 dip buyers ....plenty of lloyds data on the horizon happy to be invested here atm....gla

UK retail sales not a lot different to what was expected imo...........signals pointing to a slow down in rate rises ....a long way to go to the next BofE meeting in febuary.....gla

UK retail sales tomorrow..it seems today's US retail sales contributed to the dow sell off....

MPC 6 - 3 the vote.....apparently ....BANK OF ENGLAND: MPC MEMBERS TENREYRO AND DHINGRA VOTED TO KEEP RATES AT 3%, MANN VOTED FOR 3.75%.

re 2023....im an optimist by nature ...ive been reading different takes on the recession ...some are saying not as deep and dramatic as first thought..but longer than expected...i subscribe to that view atm.....HOWEVER if this awful war can be halted the market could turn dramatically...plus if China sorts itself out re covid more impetus can help the market....gla

the general consensus today is a 50bp rise and the next meeting is the 2nd of FEB 2023..... There is going to be a fine line next year between beating inflation and damaging growth...recent rate rises take 6 months to work through the system imo.....after today i can see rate rises dropping to increments of 25bp.....its very fluid atm with this awful war making uncertainty guaranteed for a good while yet....gla

....all very much as expected atm(inflation stabilising) ....fed minutes will be interesting as to their rate rise policy going forward.....BofE tomorrow ..still going 50bp rise here ..will be interesting to see how the MPC votes..plus retail sales in the US and UK(friday)...gla.

gazz.... i agree.....unfortunately there has always been very deprived areas nothing new in that sadly....my point is this cost of living crisis was supposed to be affecting the more affluent..ie mortgage holders etc...not seeing much evidence yet.

some talk about BofE 25bps this week.....still going 50bps uk and US this week......interesting week...gla
