Trump just confirmed that he will have call with Putin after today’s meeting with EU, UK and Z.

If all in agreement following the meeting, then a trilateral meeting to be set up, which could be as early as this week.

I find it ironic that the world’s media and experts tell Trump it’s Ukraine that should decide its future and it’s not the responsibility of Trump to make suck agreements with Putin.

Yet when Trump doesn’t confirm a ceasefire or ending of the war following his meeting with Putin the world’s media scream what a waste of time that was.

It wasn’t a waste of time, it’s is part of a process, Trump has spoken previously with Z and Europe, he is fully aware of their requirements and goals.

Trump has clearly stated that “many points agreed with Putin, some small points not yet agreed, one significant”

It was ALWAYS the case that Z and Putin will need to meet in order to agree a settlement of the war, as Trump has now stated “up to Zelenskyy”

Both Trump and Putin mentioned a further meeting.

People are far too quick to judge as opposed to seeing developments over the next 24/48 hours.

Trump meeting Zelenskyy on Monday for me signifies another step in the process.

In regards Putin, what to people expect him to say. He is a top negotiator, gives nothing away, wants the very best deal possible. Of course he will make comments such as “Russian interests” what do people expect.

Yet in over 3 years they couldn’t arrange not a single meeting in an attempt to resolve the conflict.

Interesting documentary on BBC iplayer “The Death of Yugoslavia” particularly highlighting the sociology of the peace negotiations.

I would say the Yugoslavia situation was more complicated than Ukraine and Russia, yet agreement was reached.

Both sides will start from a point of maximum benefit to their country, and both realise that compromise will be needed to reach a point where this conflict is frozen, ended or whatever other name results in a cessation of hostilities.
