Maybe this is what Trump was referring to when he said he will know in one months time if he can trust Putin.

That’s just nonsense, to say Russia is doing very well.

America is not providing Ukraine with either funding or military equipment, certainly not publicly.

Europe pushing for America to harden sanctions on Russia directly or on third parties buying Russian oil, makes no sense to Trump. Before applying additional sanctions he has said Europe needs to stop buying Russian oil and in my opinion he is perfectly right to say so.

Regardless of what Trump says publicly I am convinced that he is working very closely with both Ukraine and Russia to reach a settlement.

They will only be shot down if flying in NATO air zone.

Russian jets shouldn’t be in NATO air zone, there is no excuse for that.

I have mentioned previously but in my opinion the last 7-10 days there definitely seems to be a quietening in the conflict.

Is that significant or simply a pause before back to normal conflict who knows. Trump did say he will know in one month’s time if he can trust Putin. Are these two observations connected?

A good post which in my opinion is an accurate assessment of the situation in Ukraine.

In respect of potential settlement discussions then both Zelenskyy and Putin will go into those discussions demanding everything, but that is obvious. The end result will be some form of compromise.

I don’t for one minute think the US won’t be instrumental in reaching a peace settlement.

Apart from Trump stating Ukraine can regain lost territory, everything else he said was nothing new.

US selling weapons to EU isn’t new, Trump telling Europe to step up isn’t new.

A fall of 1.27% is hardly tanked.

You make it sound as though Ukraine are suffering no loses, that the people are perfectly happy and 60 year olds being called up is all perfectly normal.

And how many Ukrainians have died, the Ukrainian government refuse to disclose, but you can be sure it’s significant. They recruit upto 60 years of age!!

From what I have read Russia is now employing very different tactics than it did previously.

It is taking a far slower approach and not willing to sacrifice as many men.

My personal opinion is this war is un-winnable for Ukraine. The only to win is NATO put boots on the ground and take an active part in the conflict and that simply won’t happen.

Am I the only one that thinks the last 4/5 days seem to be extremely quiet in regards any actions in Ukraine.
